Out of Sight

Thousands of Americans and their families are stationed at outposts around the world working on our behalf. Many are in or near hot spots in the Middle East, Eastern Europe and elsewhere. Whether they're in the military, diplomatic service or weather-balloon maintenance, all our overseas personnel put up with untold inconvenience, disruption and annoyance. Working for the government is bad enough without having to look for a good orthodontist in Kabul.

On top of all this, we find General Motors and other big-hearted American companies refusing to honor warranties on their products when the user is out of the country, others refuse to issue extended warranties or provide appropriate software.
