Terry of Santa Barbara, CA February 19, 2009
Terry of Santa Barbara CA (02/19/09) We are also victims of the Heritage scheme. BUT, I hate being a victim and I have a lot of free time. I am not going away. October 02' 2008 I took my Land Rover in for a repair. The dealer said they had to call it in for authorization with Heritage. They called and were given the go ahead if they used the part that Heritage preferred them to use. I would have to pay out of pocket 641.99 and Heritage would reimburse me in a few weeks. Not a problem.
My first call was 10/15/08 I wanted to make sure that Heritage had receive the paper work from the dealership. I was told Yes, the claim has been processed w/ DSI and submitted to Heritage. Pending payment. 10/31/08 National Admin Services Corp. They have received and are waiting for Heritage Insurance to pay. 11/25/08 spoke w/ Gordon Will be paid soon. 12/15/08 spoke w/ Gordon Won't be much longer. We don't have any info on Heritage, we don't ever talk to them, only through electric filing 1/05/09 spoke w/ Dave (supervisor) Still waiting. I just wanted to know if a check has been sent out to me. We can verify with a check number, however nothing has been sent out at this time.
1/22/09 spoke w/ Otis 641.99 shows Heritage still pending. Did not fall thru the cracks. Each time you call the account is flagged 1/22/09 called the BBB in Lincoln, NB. I called and that number is not in service 1/22/09 called the BBB in Columbus, OH (for central Ohio) We show nothing for Heritage I looked on line and I found Heritage Warranty.com, Dublin, OH 43017-3377 president: L. Rose Berry 1/22/09 I spoke w/ Otis again, When I asked to speak w/ Mr. Roseberry Otis said to call. when I call that number they have never heard of Mr. L. Roseberry. Yet, when I Google him there is quite a bit. They told me to call (800)--. When I called I asked who was the top person at the company and the receptionist gave me K. Hopper at x. 4105 I left a voice mail.
1/22/09 Kevin Hopper did call me back. and he told me to call D. Huntsman x. 4147 2/2/09 called and couldn't get past the customer service agent. Still no check on file as being sent out, we show it is still waiting. D. Huntsman is the one who does the e-filing w/ Heritage. He isn't going to tell you anything more then what I have already told you. 2/13/09 spoke w/ Gordon, Still waiting I asked if he thought this was typical or pathetically slow? Should I think this is just a huge scam and a waste of my time? He said that They are processing claims everyday. He knows that they fell into some difficultly but that things are better now. They are paying, he just doesn't know their schedule.
just that we paid a large amount of money for insurance and have been getting the run around for the past 6 months. Yes, they pre approved that repair.
Miranda of Savannah, GA January 27, 2009
Miranda of Savannah GA (01/27/09) Purchased extended warranty on a used vehicle through a reputable car dealership with Heritage Warranty. Spent 1800. Had a fuel pump go out in Feb 2008 with multiple estimated repairs at 790-900. After filing claim, Heritage refused to pay over 345, that was the max pay out on the fuel pump part. They refused to pay labor. If I waited for them to pay the repair shop the repair shop would keep my vehicle, paid in full 1100 (had a few things extra done) in order to have my vehicle. Repaired in 24 hours. After sending in documentation I was told I would receive a check in 4-8 weeks. This never happened.
I made over 20 phone calls. I was told it was turned over the the insurance company and they would have to pay out in 60 days, didn't happen. After going online and reading about the company being seized in some states and reading others complaints I gave up. I did however receive a check in the amount of 345 in Jan 2009, 11 months later. I was pleased but still urked for the fact that it was 1/3 of the cost of the repair, the fuel pump alone was 700 plus labor and they refused because of some book. I will never reccommend this company to anyone. I have sent multiple letters to the car dealership and insurance depts of the states involved.
Deanne of Beardstown, IL January 20, 2009
Deanne of Beardstown IL (01/20/09) Had my car window fall inside of door. Took it to the dealer to get it fixed, had to get preauthoriztion which the dealer said he received. After getting the window fixed I kept getting a bill from the dealer. After 6 months they still have not paid for the repairs. Tried to get a phone number for Heritage through the 800 number on my contract and they say they don't have one. Then after looking for it on the internet I find all these bad complaints. Now I feel like I'm stuck with the bill.
I'm out of and extended warranty which cost 1795.00 plus another 322.00 for the cost of the repairs.
Walter of Mt Pleasant, SC October 11, 2008
