Class Action Filed Against U.S. Fidelis
More about Warranties

Donna of mt. olive, AL October 16, 2009

I called u.s.fidelis on May15 to check on getting a deal for my cars a mustage and a explorer. On June 9 I called to cancel because I lost my job. I been having trouble with my checking account with checks bouncing, could not understand why.

It happened again today 10-16-09. We pulled up my account and saw there was to be a withdrawal today from fidelis i said i canceled that about 6 months ago. They have been taking 126.67 out of my account for the last 6 months.

I called to tell them about it, they said they was sorry refused to return my money. Manager said he would put 400.00 towards my account, I said I did not have a account. told me to write a letter to the address above and it would cancel my account i do not have.

They owe me 633.27 plus all bounced check fees.

Edward of Yorkville, IL October 14, 2009

BUYER BEWARE. SECOND CLAIM TO THIS COMPANY. I took my 2003 4x4 Chevy truck in for service of the fwd and also asked them to check out a squeek when I made turns. They told me that I needed a hub assembly. Fidelis said that locking hubs and rings were covered but not my part I needed.

After spending almost three hours on the phone I ended up at conflict resolution where they offered to apply 500.00 credit to my contract to keep me as a customer. Then I asked if it would cover the injector pump and was told that it was not listed as a engine part covered. End result I canceled the policy. Glad I'm rid of these leeches.

Joseph of Lebanon, MO October 14, 2009

The phone sales person will only send/give information about it's company insurance policy with a downpayment of 100.00. They claim that if you do not like or are unsatisfied with it, they will return your money. US Fidelis has called me 5 times with 5 different prices for autombile extended warranties.

TERRY of PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL October 10, 2009

Called to get info about extended warranty. Was told I needed to purchase immediately to get a discount and avoid vehicle inspection. Told that the warranty was 5 years or 100,000 miles. Purchased and in reviewing fine print realized that I had pais 2100 for a warranty that capped all claims at 5000. In other words if I had a repair costs that exceeded that my contract would be canceled. Planned to buy another truck but canceled the deal once I thought I could get my current truck warranted. Lost out on the good deal.

Terrance of Los Angeles, CA October 9, 2009

I bought a policy back in January of 2009. I only bought it cause when i bought my car i was in a bit of a bind and didnt have much negotionating power at the time due to the need of a car and my job. so i seen the commercial so i called and asked a million possiable question a lot of the same just seeing if i might get a different answer. i know plenty about cars and general cost of repairs.

well when i called and told them the type of car i had they told me that it covers engine and transmission a long with some other stuff. the price at the time was steep but not to where i couldnt afford it just in case plus i had money saved just in case. so i got a policy. everything with my car is fine until september of 2009 nine months later. my car starts acting funny so i take it into aamco they look at it and tell me my transmission is bad and i pretty much need a new torque converter. so im depressed cause i dont have that much money at the time because of other emergency that came up during the time.

so i try and figure out how im going to pay for this and realize i have a warraty and they cover the torque converter. so aamco submits calls to verify that they would pay they tell them yes. i call to make sure aamco isnt pulling my leg i get another confirmation. well aamco pulls my transmission. well 3 days aamco gets a fax that u.s. fidelis wont pay now due to some kind of problem with my warranty. well it is simple call them up found out what they needed and got it fixed. they said i had a milage discrepency in my paper work i said well why am i just now hearing of this when i been paying you guys every month for 9 months now? of course they couldnt answer and they wanted me to give them some maintenance receipts from back in january. why would i still have receipts from back then when you guys have a car fax report stating what my milage was...

so i had my loan company send them the paper work that i signed when i bought the car to fix the issue. i called them back to make sure everything was fine they said yes. i said is there anything else you need before i have aamco resubmit the claim again. they said no! my car has been in the shop for 3 weeks just to clear up that issue. so i call aamco let them know everything is fine go ahead

well the next day i get a call back. aamco says they want all your maintenance receipts. im like why? they said to pay your claim it states we have the right to ask if you can not provide we dont have to pay the claim... well i said according to whats stated how many receipts due you really think im going to have in only 9 month time spand when i bought this car off a lot? they couldnt answer. well i asked them for exactly what they wanted. all services that you would need to have done on your car on schedule.

well since my car has only gained 8000 miles since i got it and the book states oil change every 6 months or 6000 miles which ever comes first. simple math shows i only need to provide one oil change receipt. but in the time i had my spark plugs and my transmission flushed. well i called back just to verifty that is exactly what they wanted. well they lady i spoke with said it was fine. so aamco called them back again they denied my claim again. im in the process now of looking at what it takes to take them to court because i have done everything on my end and they take my money and im carless still.

Brandon of Dallas, GA October 8, 2009

I am deployed to Afghanistan. I have had the coverage for over 7 months. The first issue that my car experienced, US Fidelis would not cover anything. It was an electrical issue. This was suppose to be covered per the contract. I am canceling my service and want to file a complaint.

Linda of Urbana, OH October 8, 2009

I called to check on rates- I was told I was given a very special deal. I gave them my debit number but decided while I was on the phone with them to check the internet - I found many complaints and learned that they are not a part of the better business bureau. I told Chris to cancel my debit card transaction - he transferred me 3 times and I may never get my 125.00 back . They are truly a scam and will tell you anything to sign you up. I really screws up.

Tammi of Lithonia , GA October 3, 2009

I read that US Fidelis has a class action lawsuite. I call and wrote the company to get a refund of the money. That was paid to them.. of 678.00 and I was told that I was only do back 5.00 after all fees were taking out.. And that the 5.00 would but credited to my account.. The company could tell me how I was only getting 5.00 out of the 678.00 and I never even got the 5.00 as well..After I was told that I would get my full amount if I write a letter to them, and I got nothing at all.. Nothing.

Fred of Torrance, CA October 2, 2009

On January 2009 The oil pump on my car broke down therefore not providing oil to the engine wich ultimately broke down. there was no way for me to know about the oil pump failure because two weeks prior to the brakedown my car was serviced with an oil change and according to my mechanic there was no indication of anything wrong. US Fidelis denied my claim they said that my mechanic used wrong words in the report like fail and not brokedown. The do not cover parts that "fail" only parts that brokedown. my cars is a 2002 Land Rover with only 61.000 Milles and is well maintaind

After numerous calls to US Fidelis and about five months of negotiations with negative results for me I had to pay for a complete engine overhaul(8.600 dlls) as a consecuense of the oil pump failure/brokedown. It was very hard on all of us not only on the financial side but the need of a second car really put a dent on my family. Since then i have cancelled my warranty

mike of hull, IA September 29, 2009

i signed up for a warrenty with this company in november of 2008. I have a slightly modified vehicle and explained to the sales representative the modifications done. 7 weeks ago my pickup went to a repair facility Ussfildelis just issued me a refund due to a misunderstanding on thier part that will nearly cover the storeage or the rental car cause by my vehicle sitting there for 7 weeks. I explained to then that i would no be willing to accept a refund because that would let them off the hook.
