2000 BMW 323 wagon, with 68000 miles, maintained regularly. The reverse gear stopped working. BMW said there was no known issue, so we bought a new transmission from BMW, and fitted it ourselves to save labor costs.

BMW 2000 323I - 65 000 miles Out of nowhere it suddenly stopped going into reverse. Garage kept, dealership serviced and repaired all the time. Autombile only used for pleasue as owner is a retiree and didnt't work at the time of purchase and ownership. BMW dealership said 7,000 to replace the transmission and fix the problem...last time I purchase BMW say hello Mercedez!

I paid 3833.89 for a rebuilt transmission because the car wasn't under warranty. The transmission problem was first diagnosed when the car was under warranty. I should not have had to pay for the transmission. I can prove my case with the computer diagnosis printouts. I will take this into the courts if necessary.

transmission problems...2001 323i bmw 70000 miles, reverse just went all of the sudden...no warning...This is a major problem, BMW must take responsibility for.

1994 BMW 525i, 190,000. Bought Sunday. Transmission blew Wednesday night going up a hill in San Francisco. 103 miles between dealership and said fateful hill. This is my only BMW experience. I feel like I'm joining a support-group. This sickens me- I spent my resources getting the car, and I have none left to pay for a fix. It's in the shop and I barely have the money to pay for a diagnosis of the problem. The good news is that I coaxed the thing to get to the BMW specialist repair shop without a tow. Where do BMW gutless wonders go to die?
