I purchased a 2005 Cadillac STS on July 10, 2008. My husband and I went to see the car twice before purchasing it. We looked the car over very intensly and drove it both on the street and on the freeway. After several hours of negoition we purchased the car that evening. The dealership took the car to the back and washed it for us prior to us leaving the store. It was about 9:30 pm when we left. The next day we noticed water in the passenger side head lamp. We called Charles, the General Manager and told him the problem. The parts person, Kevin ordered the headlamp and stated it should be covered since we just purchased the car. When the headlamp came in the order to replace it was denied.I was told it would be about 1000 dollars to replace the headlamp and I would have to pay for it. I had only owned the care less then 72 hours! I feel this should have been noticed by the dealership and repaired prior to selling the car. Since it is summer and no rain the only way to see the headlamp was leaking was to wash the car...I am sure the car was wased prior to putting it on the lot for sale and I feel the dealship should replace this headlamp at no cost to me.It's not like I waited a long time to report it...I reported the problem to them immediatly. If the headlamp goes out due to water shorting it out it could be a safty hazarrd...
