Not only that, the Durango tends to go through ball joints like a dog through a pound of hamburger. This is not only expensive but can -- and does -- cause serious accidents, as many of our readers will tell you. The feds have finally put the arm on DaimlerChrysler to do a recall but there's some debate over whether the recall covers all of the affected models. Richard of Denton, TX July 30, 2009 The hood on my 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck flipped up while I was driving down the road. It smashed my winshield and damaged my roof. The hood was also severly damaged. Roy of Vinita, OK July 29, 2009 Elecrical problem, gauges and warning lights work ramdanly, they go on alnd off. Dealersship has put it on the monitor a number of time at 75 and can not fix this problem. Owner has told me if it is an electrical problem on a Dodge PU it can not be fixed. Pu has 160000 miles on it. I am finding a number of other Dodge PU owners with similiar problems. Sky of Lubbock, TX July 29, 2009 I have a 2007 dodge 2500 cummins diesel that has been in the shop since May the 10th 2009. The truck had a lot of blow by, and a lose of power. I am a self employed young man that is on FOOT if you know what i mean. I am very patient, but this is past rediculous. no one seems to know anything about it when i call up there. The only thing i have heard from the 2 phone calls in 2 months is that the regional mgr has to make a warranty decision. I know dodge is going through tough times right now, but so am i without a truck. Please let me know something soon! thanks ROBERT of FRANKLIN, PA July 24, 2009 I recently took my truck in for a inspection and was told that it needed both upper and lower ball joints. This did not come as a surprise because for several months I knew something was going on with the front end. However what does surprise me is that this truck has never been driven off road and has been well taken care of. So I would like some answers as to why this happened. The dealership that I purchased my truck from closed a few months after purchasing my truck (brand new). I was reading about earlier models being recalled but not the 2005's and was wondering why. This is going to be very costly for me and I feel that it is a manufacturers problem not mine. Please let me know if I have any remedies in this. Thanks Charles of Owensboro, KY July 21, 2009 I am the owner of a 2003 Dodge 1500 Ram Cargo Van. About six months ago I noticed the paint beginning to chip off, now the paint is coming off in chunks. I E-mailed the Chrysler Customer Assistance Center and was told, in so many words "we regret your inconvenience, but we are not going to do anything about it". Inconvenience is an understatement! A six year old vehicle, regardless of the manufacturer, should not have the paint coming off. I know that I am not alone in this issue because I see a lot of vans and mini vans, that are Chrysler products, with the paint coming off. Chrysler won't even admit to a paint problem, it's as if they are saying, we've got your money, sorry about your luck. Michelle of Eaton Rapids, MI July 18, 2009 On July 16, 2009, my husband was driving my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport. He going about 55 miles an a hour passing a semi. As he was passing, the hood flew open and crashed into the windshield blocking his view. As I have read this website, I noticed that this has been an issue. The hood latches were severely corroded. Physical - 200+ for hood and 200+ for windshield. Patricia of Colorado Springs, CO July 17, 2009 We own a 1996 White Dodge 3500 Ram, love the truck but in just the past 5 months the paint is peeling. We were told that Dodge used a primer base that would not adhere the paint. We are looking to buy a newer truck only because we retire soon and want a Diesel to pull a 5th wheel (we have a v10)but due to the recent paint peeling of course our trucks value went down drasticly. The truck only has 50,000 miles. What a shame that Dodge took a cheap route when painting their trucks. Rebecca of Bonneau, SC July 9, 2009 I took my truck in to have some work doen after they figured out what was wrong I was told they could not get the Lift Pump for it cause Dodge had it on back order so they put me in a rental care and after 2 weeks I had to start looking for this part myself. Ialso was told after this time they where going to take me out of the rental care because they could not pay for it anymore. So now I had to find this part and find a ride to work this is an out rage this is a Dodge problem not mine. brian of las vegas, NV July 3, 2009 i have a 98 dodge stratus which recently caught on fire in the engine, and happpen to notice alot of others have had the same problem with the same year make any model vehicle i have Caroline of Clarksburg, WV June 24, 2009 My 2003 Dodge Durgango has had air conditioning problems where the relay has burned and my air does not work, I had this fixed twice in two years now and this could become a hazardous life threatening problem if this continues, I use my car as a family car and drive my young child in the car and if this causes a fire we could lose our lives. This is ridiculous, and expensive for a me to have to continue getting this fixed. If someone from Dodge can give me a call and talk with me I would appreciate it. IN the meantime I am seeking legal counsel to help start a claim. Report Your Experience
