Nicolas of El Sobrante CA (01/12/05)
Got hit from behind and took Honda into dealer, honda el cerrito, to fix the damage. They fixed all body parts but could not fix the vibrating muffler. They called me 3 days later to tell me they want $575 to fix exhaust. I drove it out of there and took it to Mel's and Sons Muffler about 3 blocks down from the honda dealer on san pablo ave. 30 minutes and $20 later, thats right $20.00, problem fixed, just like new. It's been a month and car runs great. no rattling muffler.

Trian of Santa Cruz, CA, writes:
Honda of El Cerrito agreed to sell me a 2000 Honda Accord LE V6, with my deposit of $5,000. I was supposed to wait for 1-2 hours while they "go and pick up the car".

I went to my office and upon coming back to the dealership 3 hours later, was told that the car was not available, that it's still at their prep center and that it would be ready for me to pick up the next day.

On the next day, I had to call them at the end of the day to find out the status of my purchase and was told that the car is not even here (in the US) yet, and that they don't even know where it is.

The sales manager at the time promised me that they will look for another car for me within 24 hours. 24 hours come and go without any phone call from them, when I call and ask to have my down payment refunded, I was given the runaround.

I finally had to ask an attorney to intervene for me, and even with the attorney's letter of demand for my refund, it takes them 12 days to refund my money, without even one word of apology.

I just want to file a grievance with consumer affairs, and hopefully a letter of complaint would somehow get to the hand of El Cerrito's general manager, so that they won't practice this kind of deceptive and fraudulent business with anyone else.
