Jody of Victorville CA (03/16/09) So he says ok, but we'll go ahead and check your fluids, battery, wash your windows etc. He wrote up the ticket with the 2 oil changes and my husband signed it. Well, 5 minutes later as we're getting our kids out of the car he comes up and hands my husband a ticket for 594.32!!!! We looked at each other and asked the guy what in the *ell was this?!? He tries to fast talk again saying, no, no I'll give you my employee discount so it will only be 300. We say, 300 for what, all we asked for was an oil change. His reply? Well, the car has already been pulled in and they are working on it now so it's too late, besides you signed off on it. When we look at the paper he is handing us, he has added 594.32 worth of charges on the side AFTER my husband had already signed it. As you can imagine I threw a royal fit! I called the cops who told me that since my husband had signed it there was nothing they could do, we tried to explain that they added all those charges AFTER my husband signed but they said we couldn't prove that, can you believe there are people this underhanded that would do this to someone? So at this point, we had to pay it to get our vehicles back and I'm going to contact their corporate offices but I feel like they are going to get get away with this completely illegal action! Julie of Yorba Linda, CA March 13, 2009 Julie of Yorba Linda CA (03/13/09) When the carpool got back into the car after school, 2:45, The kid who hid his phone in my seat pocket noticed that the headphones were in the seat pocket but the phone was gone. I went directly back to the EZ lube and questioned the guy who worked on my car. Ron couldn't remember if he vacummed the back seat of my car but he remembered doing the front seat floor. I called 911 and filed a police report and when the officers arrived, they told me that this type of theft has happend several times before at this EZ lube. They have video cameras but after review, the district manager said the tape was unconclusive (oh right.. you don't think the workers know how to manuver around the cameras, give me a break.) None the less, my friend's son is out of an Apple I-phone and there is nothing that can be done. Steve of Los Angeles, CA March 9, 2009 Steve of Los Angeles CA (03/09/09) They have neglected on two occasions to sufficiently tighten the air filter wingnut and I have thus lost two of them in a row; they return the car to me with oily fingerprings on the hood, and the driver door; they might as well not bother to wash the windows because more often than not, it looks like they did it with an oily rag. I tell the kid who writes up my invoice, point blank, in no uncertain terms Please do not vacuum inside the car (I had the inside door panel disassembled and there were small parts from it in the console). Do what happens? They vacuum, of course. The mechanic shows me my battery is low and I need a new serpentine belt. He's right but I am not going to have the work done here and I advise him so. I also advise that I bought lifetime wiper blades here about two years ago and they need to be changed. He nods okay. I take the car after they are done. Do I have new wiper blades? Of course NOT. I advise the clerk I asked for new wipers blades and please get a rag and clean the oil off the hood and door. She comes back with a dirty rag and bottle of Windex and proceeds to smear the oil farther and wider. I am not making this up. And I am not giving any more money to EZ Lube. Dee of Los Angeles, CA February 23, 2009 Dee of Los Angeles CA (02/23/09) Once again I told him that I only had the money to get the oil change and that is when he seemed little irritated and said that I really needed work done and he was surprised that my car hasn't broken down on me already. For a second I was going to come back to EZ Lube and get the services I needed done on my car but after this experience with this man I will not come back to this place ever again. The way he kept pressuring me to spend more money was irritating and unprofessional, with the way the economy is these days one would think that he would be a little more understanding. Also my father is a mechanic and I told him about my experience and after looking at my car not only can he do some of the things that I need done to my car but he told me that a lot of the things he listed had nothing wrong with them to the point where my car would break down. He had no reason to be upset and say something like that to me and I never want to give my business to your company again due to that gentleman, I just wanted to let you guys know about my experience and have a good day. Edward of Costa Mesa, CA February 1, 2009 Edward of Costa Mesa CA (02/01/09) 1. The one I took on January 28, 2009 is a Ford Explorer that sat garaged for most of the past 7 months without leaving a drop of anything on the floor. After having the coolant system flushed and refilled, the rear differential serviced, the fuel filter changed, and the transmission serviced to the tune of just under 300, there is now a coolant leak. First estimate was 950 for radiator and intake replacement, but that was from Pep Boys whom Ive found to be unreliable. The car DID NOT leak AT ALL before they touched it. Taking it to my own mechanic, Mesa Center Auto, on Monday. 2. The second one, a Mercedes Turbo Deisel, had the full synthetic oil change, coolant flush and change, and transmission serviced to the tune of 330. They filled the coolant reservoir past the fill line, all the way to the top. Now the reservoir is cracked and the car is running hotter than it ran when it allegedly had old transmission fluid and old coolant. 3. The third car had a full synthetic oil change and had everything topped? off. It is also running hotter than normal, even though Mobil 1 allegedly runs cooler than regular oil, which it replaced. Jury still out on this one since today is a bit hotter than usual.
I find it odd that at least two vehicles that had literally no leakage problems prior to service at EZ Lube developed problems almost immediately after service by them.
