Amy of Tampa writes: I bought my car in 1997 brand new. Recently I went to Gordon Chevrolet to get my radio fixed and had them check the paint. They told me there was something definetely wrong with my paint but I need to take it back to where I bought it. So the next day I went to Ferman Chevrolet and they told me the car has been damaged and repainted and they are not responsible. My car has never been wrecked or had any body work. They did not want to take responsibility for it nor did GM. I could not believe this was happening to me given I purchased a brand new car that has obviously been wrecked. They continued to tell me there was nothing they could do so I threatened I would get a lawyer. About 30 minutes later they called back and said they would paint it. He stated not because they felt they did something wrong but because I bought 2 cars there and was a good customer. If that was the case, why didn't they just agree to do it in the beginning? I spoke with the body shop manager who stated he would paint the problem areas which is almost the entire car, nor would they give me a rental. They acted like they were doing me a favor. I bought this car brand new and have never had any body work done and no claims have been filed. I feel this is very unfair. I have not had my car painted yet. My appointment is on Monday August 16th but im in hopes there will be a better resolution to this nightmare. |
