Shayne of Columbia MD (07/22/08) I dropped my car off for a routine oil change and fuel system flush, about 1 1/2 hours later I recieved a phone call that my car was ready. When I returned to pick up my vehichle I was told that I needed 4 new tires and an alignment. I informed the technichian that I had just purchased 2 new tires and had an alignment a month and a half ago and there is no way that the tires were already bald. I caught him off guard so he said that he would go measure the tread on the tire again.
After doing so he said,I dont know what happend the first time but the measurements were wrong, your tires are fine. I believe that they thought they were dealing with someone that didnt know any better, and thought they would get over on me. I will not go back to this firestone ever again.
No damage because I called their bluff. But I feel as if they tried to steal from me! Annonomous of Lewisville, TX July 13, 2008
Annonomous of Lewisville TX (07/13/08) I had a coupon for brake works for 89.99. When my brake work was done, he said Because of you guys who use coupons, we don't make any money. It seems that we would rather give out money than do business. Never said thank you for your business.
No economic or physical damage but there is a Good Year right across the street and they might not be as rude as Firestone employees are. Luis of Hollywood, FL July 10, 2008
Luis of Hollywood FL (07/10/08) I decided to go to Firestone to get an alignment for my car. I asked the technician if the back tire condition is due to this problem( car pulls to the left). He says no, only the front tire gets afected. this happened outside in the parking lot. 15 minutes later the service person in the desk (Jose Lopez) tells me the opposite statement that it doesn't afect the back tire. Later on, in the front desk (jose) said that the problem is an internal division the the tire and in that case they can not do the alignament.
Later on I asked Jose whats going on? he said that they are about to start doing the alignament. So I asked him if the tire is OK. he tells me, if I want it done or not. I just said Yes. Later on they said that one of the bolts in the tire got broken because the last person who rotated the tires in the car dindn't properly inserted the nut. he gave me an estimate of the car needs, he said that if we do all the estimate in firestone he would fix the bolt @ no cost, estimate is 536.02. So I said stop, Is your fault your service technician broke it and they have to fix it any way. He said that there is no time today. that they will do it the next day.
I drove out and the car aligment was not fixed. With a bad attitude Jose tells me don't come back tomorrow @ 7 pm; we open @ 7 am. My girlfriend went the next day and left the car in firestone to correct the problems. then' I got a call from Nelson Borrego saying that there is another nut stock in the tire's bolt and they need my athorization to brake it and I pay for it. I tryed to understand the situation because all the nuts were remove the day before by the previous Firestone technician. as I told Jose I will be completely honest to him' he got the nerves to say I HOPE! that was insulting and rude.
we finally agreed that I will be responsible for only one more broken bolt which is 40.00.When Ivonne got back after the estimated time of one hour the car was not ready, she had to wait a total of 3 hours and the only thing Jose Explained is that is not his problem. They never showed me the broken bolts, but they did charged us for it. I believe that Firestone in this location have a very poor and unprofesional customer service. They Do not have clarity and integrity with their clients. I would never go back.
extra charge of 40.oo 4Hrs of Working time. Thea of Houston, TX July 2, 2008
Thea of Houston TX (07/02/08) I recived a call from Firestone after sending them a letter stating the reasons why I was disputing the charges on my credit card, also I want to stop the harrassing calles all day and night to my home which caused me undo stress, explained to her the letter she claims she recived stated this, Then the caller from Firestone started saying what they were going to do to me and then hung up in my face. this was at 8 pm on 7/1/2008. I didn't have a number to call her back or a supervisor to report her behavior too, I am disputing the charges, I bought the items on sale and they changed my sale price to the regular price at a later date when I didn't pay the account in their time, but always was on time with payments, account was almost paid off until they changed price on items.
There were no letters stating I had a time limit sent to me before, they did send me a letter saying I had to pay full price, I have noticed Firestone, will adverstise sale that is how I got the credit card in the first place, because they advertised a sale on a oil change, I couldn't get any of the sale items until I got the credit card, that is how I became a member. This has also place a unfavored report to the credit bureau. It is unfair, I was paying intrest plus my items, that wasn't enough for them. This is the damage they have caused me, they are runing my name unfairly, and not one time have they offered me any type of repayment plan, they know I could afford at the price I bought items, which were on sale. Thank you for your time anc concern. Melinda of Marietta, GA June 21, 2008
Melinda of Marietta GA (06/21/08) Two things wrong- New tires were ordered and sold to my wife and mounted and balanced with a front end alignment included. This Maxima that she drive is maintained at all times and I [her husband] keep a close eye on what is going on with this vehicle at all times. The car was returned with a check list of items needed to be done [ new brake pads mainly ] however after we drove the car away- the radiator was busted- It had a sharp impact along the top edge [an exposed area] of the plastic radiator. Fluids were steaming out of this as we got home.
Also- the front right wheel had 3 out of five lug nuts loose- one so loose I could turn it by hand. On close inspection- the brakes did need service but the service was minimal [I am certified in this field and a crew chief in profession motorsports] and the four disks were almost new- no run-out-and the pads had worn but were good for another 10,000 miles [they were replaced anyway- by me].Now the person who told me I would need new disks [rotors also said they were running a special on this brake service [obvious they wanted to make a sale] also I noticed they were telling another Nissan owner there at the time that she needed a new radiator- even though she had just been there for that same problem-something they had overlooked.
I feel that since the radiator wasnt able to hold its water when I got home [which is only 2.1 miles away-5 mins. away] that this problem should have been apparent to them when Firestone raised the hood IF there was a problem when we arrived-but nothing was mentioned by them which can only mean they had to have damaged this when the car was serviced. I have since found damage was done to the resevoir box too. No damage has been detected from the loose lug nuts- however I AM telling all who shop in this region to watch out for this VERY dangerous lack of attension.
New radiator [cost at best public price with out labor or delivery = 256.00] also the resevoir box is another 25.00 from a used source. Total amounts to approx 300.00 plus labor. Gordon of Roanoke, VA May 12, 2008
