Mary of Westfield MA (12/01/08) The next morning, I brought my car to my mechanic that I normally go to and he said it sounded like a bearing issue and asked me to bring it in the next morning so he could check it out when he had an available appointment time. I brought my car in the next morning and the first thing he did was check the oil on the dipstick. There were 2 other mechanics at the shop and they both said I needed to change my oil, I had just had it done 90 miles or 2 days before. There was gritty stuff in it and all three said that the oil wasn't good. My mechanic proceeded to change the oil and it was black and not clean looking; and not like it was only 90 miles old.
My mechanic then said that the oil was not as full as it should have been and the oil change was not properly done. I called Scott to inform and inquire about what my next steps should be. He said he did nothing wrong, and I stated that my car was making noise only after the oil change, and he said how would I know that (meaning Scott) and I restated to him about how he told me if the engine was making noise that they would not have changed the oil and would have called me if there was an issue, so that is how he would know that it was not making noise before the oil change. He then implied I was lying and I then called Consumer Affairs and have been dealing with a claims adjuster. Still no answers and I need my car to be safe as I am in outside sales. Darlene of Caseyville, IL November 30, 2008 Darlene of Caseyville IL (11/30/08) Now, today, I called to make appt for oil change & winter check which I do every year & have for as many years as I can remember. Bert says he could give me an appt any day but it's first come first serve so he could not tell me how long it would take for me to get my car serviced. Evidently having an appt does not mean anything. They turn no one away, which is fine, but why would I make an appt and then have to wait a couple hours before my car can be serviced? I found in the past Firestone was my saviour for car repairs, etc. I am a single female and no mechanic in the family or neighborhood so I thought I could depend on Firestone. I have for more than 20 years. That time is really coming to an end with service like that! I am retired, I do not want to come in at 7:30AM.I prefer a later time of the day. I am willing to wait a couple days to have my car serviced so an appt can be scheduled and I do not have to wait a long time. Evidently Fairview Heights store cannot do that! Do I have to discontinue my relationship with Firestone completely and go somewhere else?
