My 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix was leaking power steering fluid. I took it into Firestone, left it there. They called me a while later to let me know that the pressure line and return line were leaking and that this was going to cost me 600!!. I spoke to my boyfriend, who said absolutely not, take the car out of there we'll take it somewhere else. I called Firestone and then they told me that just the return line was leaking and that they could replace it for 300 approximately. I still said no and took the car to my friend's husband's shop. He called me and told me that it wasn't the pressure or return line it was another line that was leaking. So he repaired the line, gave a me an oil change, topped my fluids and put air in my tires. 89!!!! Firestone is a rip off. I now know for a fact that they have ripped me off in the past. They charged me once 400 to repair the pump for my windshield wiper fluid!! I will never take my car there again. Compare 89 to 600!!

John of Cheney WA (08/18/08)
I live in Cheney Washington and for all my life I have used Les schwab, but when my family and I were on vacation 2 weeks ago we were stranded in Redmond Washington at 6pm and the schwab was closed. Across the street was a Firestone and the sign said open. I was in a bind and had no choice so we went over.

When I walked in it didn't look promising since they were slammed. the Manager saw me walk in and headed right for me. Ryan asked what he could do for me and I let him know that I was overheating and coolant was coming out and if there was anything he could do. To my suprise he said yes, he said he would personally look at it for me since his techs were busy. He pulled my truck around and about 20 min later a parts truck pulled up with a hose and walked right by me. Ryan came out let me know that my upper hose had failed and for 90 bucks he could fix it and have me back on the road in no time. ( I couldn't freaking believe it ) It was past 7 no one was left in the shop but my family and Ryan was still working on my truck.

When he finished he came pulled my truck back around helped me out. I expected less from Firestone since I have been a follower of his competitor, I ve heard bad things about Firestone my whole life. I WAS WRONG. I had the best service I have ever experienced before, he even gave my kids coloring books so they wouldn't get bored. My safety net schwab hasn't even treated me that good and I've spent thousands there. Ryan let me know that there are Firestone's in spokane and I will be going there know. If anyone out there wants a good experience at a Firestone stop by the Redmond one and say hi to Ryan for me.

Jorge of Coconut Creek, FL August 15, 2008

Jorge of Coconut Creek FL (08/15/08)
I went to this location to perform a regular maintenance in my company vehicle, I provided a document with the details of the labor that needed to be done Mr Nino iformed me that in bout 1 hour the car will be ready, I left and came back 2.5 hours later, the vehicle was still on the ramp, thay replaced 4 tires, alignment, windshield washer fluid ( that was full ), when I asked him who authorizaed the work, he said do not worry about it you are not going to pay for it, another young man ( 20 yr aprox ) (mechanic) interrupted claiming that he as the owner, that he was a kid (20 yrs old man) but he was the owner, raised his voice and said that I should sign the bill and leave the store, that I shouldn't complaint because I wasn't paying for it,

the old tires had 20.000 miles and they were in good condition, rotated every 5000 in the same place where I got them, so they should have a warranty if there was womething wrong I could take them to the place where I got them and see what happened, (I was informed that those tires will last 60000 aprox), they just replaced the tires because they wanted to make money not because the vehicle was in the need of new tires, and what if I don't like their tires? what if I like another brand? I can't choose just because they just wanted to make money as far as I know this is America we can take desicions, I know that tires is their business but they can't just do whatever they want.

Beacuse I don't pay for the services does not mean they can do whatever they want, I lost time at work beacuse I had to wait until they finished they are abusives and very rude, very unprofesional way to conduct business, they did not call me because they knew I was going to say no.

I took my car in for tires on 8/12/08 and I was informed I needed a fuel system tune up.  The problem is that I just had one done on 8/2/08 I wondering was the car services done on 8/2/08 as stated on my receipt The same technician David serviced the car on both dates.

I went in to get an oil change and state inspection. My car is a two year old Chevy Impala. After awhile Laron called me up to show me a laundry list of things that needed to be taken care of before it could pass inspection. Windshield wipers streaking, air filter dirty, light bulb out on back license plate, brakes need flushing, two front tires out of tread. The bill was over 650.

I'm a woman and fell back on the let me see what my husband wants me to do thing. I called him and started reading off the list. The two scariest things I came across were 80 for the wipers and 17.99 for the light bulb. The rest was ridiculous as well, but even Laron was embarrassed and tried to see if there was a mistake in pricing. Then I was told that my wipers were rare and needed to be ordered. Luckily I was smart enough to walk away. I asked what I needed to pay to get out of there and I would never be back. He was so embarrassed he only charged me for the oil change and didn't argue with me.

My husband later got two tires from Discount tire for 1/2 the price. He bought a light bulb for 55 cents and replaced that. The wipers do not need to be replaced and the air filter was 8. No need to have brakes flushed either. They basically saw me coming and thought they could bleed me dry.

Just frustration and distrust. I will never ever shop at Firestone again.
