Christopher of Tulsa writes:
I leased a brand new 1999 Ford Explorer Sport in Dec 1998. For the past year my vehicle hesitates upon acceleration. The problem steadily has gotten worse where the problem almost occurs everytime you acceleate. I have had the computer replaced and re-programmed at least 5 or 7 times. The problem is still not fixed.

The dealership says they are working with a Ford engineer to fix the problem. An engineer within Ford Motors was contacted, and he does not have a solution to the problem. For the past year, Ford tells me just to work with the service department to get it fixed, but they don't know how to fix the problem. When you contact the head cheese at Ford, they do not know how to fix it, and just say to work with the service department.

I am frustrated beyond. I have this vehicle I pay for every month, and the fact that it is broken and cannot be fixed, and I am just to live with the problem, aggravates me even more.

It may be too late but Christopher should consult an attorney who handles Lemon Law cases without delay. Anyone else have this problem? Let us know if you do.

Reid of Napleton, UT, writes:
I have a 1995 Ford Explorer with V6 engine. After idling at stop sign or light and you go to accelerate, it will sometimes hesitate or die. I'm sure you can see how dangerous this is if you enter an intersection and your engine dies. I have taken it to a couple of dealers and they say everything is normal. I have heard that others have a similar problem.
