I was driving through an intersection in my 2004 Honda Civic when a driver coming from the opposite direction ignored my right of way and turned into me. Her car hit me in the front, favoring the driver's side. The police estimated we were both driving about 20 mph and were shocked that my airbags did not deploy. I am still dealing with injuries from the crash three weeks later. The original estimate is about 5,100 for my car and I was told that the frame was bent, so there was significant damage. The autobody shop told me they needed to replace the front airbag sensor because it was damaged in the crash.

Luckily the other driver's insurance company is paying for all of the expenses, including property damage and medical expenses. I have had an ER visit, chest xray, EKG, a sesond doctor's visit, and prescription medication for pain. I am scheduled to undergo therapy from a chiropractor, as my neck pain has not decreased. I have had a significant amount of chest pain when breathing, lifting, laughing, etc. I expect the total payout from insurance to be over 10,000 once the claim is settled.

My daughter was driving our 2003 Honda Civic and she lost control of the vehicle and rolled it then flipped upside down in a deep ditch. We had gotten much rain and the car filled up with water. She could have drowned. But somehow someway she managed to get herself out. It is a miracle she lived. She thankfully was wearing her seatbelt. The car is a "TOTAL". I am VERY concerned though that NONE of the airbags deployed???? rolling and then flipping upside down and NO deployment?? Hummm... The car had an extremely HARD hit to the front when flipping upside down so I do not understand this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

2004 Honda Accord has an intermittent problem with the drivers seat belt. A contact in the seat belt latch is causing the Air Bag system to malfunction. My local Honda dealership stated that the air bag will not function with this problem. An internet search shows many Honda's with the same problem. This problem in the seat belt disables the air bag and also disables the seat belt warning light which warns the driver if the seat belt is not latched. The Honda warrantee states that "any Honda seat belt component that fails to function properly during normal use" is covered by a lifetime warrantee. However, Honda is refusing to replace the seat belt latch under warrantee.

We were driving our Honda Civic 2003 in South Dakota coming out of a National Park and hit a deer that came into the road at 75 miles a hour. The deer smashed into the front of the car causing the hood to pop up and totally cover our windshield blocking our view, the deer then rolled up into the engine and bounced off the windshield before rolling off the side of the car. It would have come through the windshield if the hook hadn't protected us.

However out of the four airbags in the car none went off except the drivers side one which malfunctioned and only went out by 3 inches. When I asked Honda why they didn't work they said it all depends on where the impact is. How about on the front of the car and coming through our windshield at 75 miles a hour?

I then asked them if they have ever had any recalls and they then had to tell me they had a class action lawsuit in 2006 for the airbag issues. Our car was totalled. We were lucky we weren't hurt or had to rely on the airbags. Hondas are death traps. Get rid of yours if you have one.

On 03/31/2009 at 2:30pm traveling North on I-95, in slow lane... I swerved to avoid car-carrier ramp ladder. According to FHP report, I rolled my '05 Honda Element four times, ending up off the shoulder. My DRIVERS SIDE airbag also only partially deployed. Have eye-witness to accient who will cooperate. LIfe Flighted to Shands Hospital Jacksonville. I suffered severely fractured sternum, two, full-width rotator cuff tears to LEFT arm... side where airbag did not deploy fully. Will need surgery and extensive rehap, plus loss of wages. I am a registered nurse. thanks for listening.

I have a 2008 Honda Accord EX that I have been leasing for less than a year and a half. Last week, I was in the car while it was turned on and my 18 month old son was in the back seat and my husband was in the passenger seat. My husband had to get out of the car to get something, when he closed the door, all of the passenger side airbags deployed including the seat airbag and the curtain airbags. Thankfully they did not hurt my son. We have taken the car to Honda of Princeton, NJ and they have told us that this is our fault and the car did its job. I really never knew that by closing my door while the car is on should cause any airbags to deploy.

I always thought Hondas were great cars yet I have completely changed my mind about that. In the little time that I have had this car, I have already needed my muffler replaced, my brake pads were warped and now this. Honda told me to file a claim with my insurance, but the insurance says this is a Honda defect. I dont believe I should have to pay a penny out of my pocket to get this fixed since this is definitely a problem with Honda, especially after reading about the many other similar situations that other people have had with Honda cars. To top it off, the estimate I was given by mu insurance adjuster was close to 4000.00.

Sergio of Van Nuys, CA March 7, 2009

Sergio of Van Nuys CA (03/07/09)
I was driving to my local Ralphs and as I made a left turn to go into the parking lot, for no apparent reason, my side airbags deployed! It was only the side curtain airbags. I didn't hit anything and no one hit me, but for some reason they just deployed. I tried to look under the car to check if something came up off the road and hit my car but I couldn't see anything.

I didn't get hurt or anything like that but my airbags will no longer be there in case that I get into an actual accident! And if i was to sell my car in the future it no longer has those airbags which will make people think that my car has been in an accident but in reality the airbags deployed on their own with no apparent reason!!!

Honda Civic 2007 air bags did not deploy nor did the drivers seat belt lock in place when my daughter and friend hit a path of ice and spun around hitting the ditch thus rolling the car twice.

sustained a concussion as well as minor sprains - car is a total write off.
