Sara of Orlando FL (12/06/08)
I was in an accident today. The road's speed limit is 55 so I am extimating that the crash was about 35 miles per hour. I rear ended the car in front of me and my air bag did not deploy. I now have severe back and neck strain and pain.

Rich of Toutle, WA December 5, 2008

Rich of Toutle WA (12/05/08)
While my wife-8mo old son and, mother-in-law drove my 2005 Honda element down a gravel driveway the side curtain airbag on the drivers side deployed. This driveway was just that; a driveway. It lead to a house that someone lived in-now I'm not sure but a regularly maintained driveway should not enduce an airbag to deploy. My mother-in-law had a sore red burn mark on her left elbow-and my 8mo old son was quite startled as well as my wife. The noise was earth shattering according to my wife-she said that her ears were ringing long after the incident. One can only imagine what my son was feeling or hearing at that time.

The car was purchased as a certified used honda-and I also purchased the 1500 honda WRAP coverage which states that it is a 48 month 100,000k powertrain warranty and a 50,000k other than powertrain warranty. Everything was going smoothly down at the dealership (who has been outstanding to work with) until the factory got involved. Honda of America basically said that airbags don't just deploy-and that my mother-in-law must have hit something and that I need to get my insurance company involved? 45 days and some hundreds of phone call's later I still have not gotten any farther than I was on day one.

I don't feel that this is my insurance companies problem, I feel that this is a safety issue that Honda needs to address, and fast; because if one of these bags goes off on someone in heavy freeway speed traffic the end result could be terrible. Honda needs to place a recall on these vehicles before someone is seriously hurt. I'm just thankful that my family was traveling slow and other than some ringing ears and sore elbow's they are safe and sound.

The economic damages to me came in the form of a 1,250.00 repair bill that looks like it's coming out of my pocket. If you include the purchase of the warranty the total comes to 2,849.

Valarie of Las Vegas, NV November 27, 2008

Valarie of Las Vegas NV (11/27/08)
I purchased the car in California in 2005. It has less than 19,000 miles and the air bag sensor will not go off, this sensor is a known issue with Honda and no recalls have been done to fix this issue. Several complaints have been filed with the NHTA already. The internet is loaded with complaints from buyers spending hundreds of dollars and getting nowhere on this issue. My sensor just went out, my car is less than 4 years old and is now not safe to drive. Unlike other car owners I have no money to spend running around from dealer to dealer to fix a known safety issue with this car. Honda should fix this without any expense on my part.

My car is unsafe to drive due to the airbag sensor stuck in the on position. In an accident I would have no airbags. I currently have a car that I pay monthly car payments of 286.00 on plus insurance 105.95 and it's not safe to drive. I do think this would make an interesting story if they refuse to fix my car. With the current financial crisis and American Car companies offering such good deals seeing a grandma and her grandkids taking a Honda in and trading it in on an American car would be very interesting.

I hydroplanned recently in my 1996 Honda Accord and crashed sideways into a rock then down a steep ditch. The airbags did not deploy. The firemen and deputies that worked the crash said the airbags should have gone off.

I had a gash over my left eye and a hair line fracture in the back of my head from the force of the wreck. I now have severe headaches.
