I hydroplanned recently in my 1996 Honda Accord and crashed sideways into a rock then down a steep ditch. The airbags did not deploy. The firemen and deputies that worked the crash said the airbags should have gone off.

I had a gash over my left eye and a hair line fracture in the back of my head from the force of the wreck. I now have severe headaches.

The Immaculate Honda Airbag Deployment - Part II My wife and two daughters were traveling down a gravel road in our 2005 Honda Odyssey when the side curtain airbags both deployed for no apparent reason. The State Farm Ins. rep has determined that there was no collision or impact of any kind. Honda says its not under warranty so they will not cover anything.

When the airbags deployed the front seatbelts jerked backed and caused bruising and subsequent soreness in the collarbone area to both my wife and oldest daughter. Both daughters were somewhat traumatized by the very loud boom! Believe it or not, the cost to reinstall the airbags is 6,400.

I owned a Honda Civic 2007 and was in an accident on I-95. My car was hit three times-along the side, then the drivers door and finally the front of the car. Not a single airbag deployed. THe car was totaled. I called Honda to tell them that I believed the had a design flaw. They suggested that this was a matter between me and my insurance company. A few days later I was contacted by an independent investigator. (I later found out that he is independant, but he fee was paid by Honda.) He expressed his concern and wanted to have an opportunity to see what happend to the airbags. It also appeared to me that he was trying to do some damage control for Honda. He sent someone out to take a look at the car and a week or so later, I got a call from this person who looked at my car and he said the side airbags didn't go off because it wasn't a direct hit to the side and the front didn't go off because we were not going fast enough. Frankly none of this made any sense- the drivers door was hit directly and we were spun into a tractor trailer-I can't imagine a better reason for them to deploy! As far as going too slow. On the first impact we were going 60 mph the second two impacts happened within seconds of each other. Its all a mystery why Honda isn't taking complaints seriously.

Danielle of La Palma, CA March 11, 2008

While in a accident with my 2003 Honda Accord, traveling on the 91 freeway in Southern California, my driver side airbag did not deploy while my passenger airbag did. This accident included a 3 car pile up with me cought in the middle. As I was coming to a stop in traffic the vehicle behind me rear ended me and thrusting me into the vehicle in front of me. Unfortunately, the driverside airbag did NOT deploy while the passenger did. Both the back end and front end are totally destroyed thus a complete total loss of vehicle
