Diana of Northridge writes:I purchased a 1996 Acura Integra RS on Oct. 10, 1998. I asked three of the dealer persons if this vehicle had ever been in any sort of accident. They responded to me no, that the vehicle was in excellent condition. I scratched my car on a chain-linked fence a few days ago, so I took it to "Reseda Coach & Colors." A gentleman there asked me if this car had ever been in an accident. I told him that not as far as I knew. He began to tell me that the driver door had been totally replaced, it had no VIN numbers; there was bondo work done on the car; the driver door did not align correctly nor did the gas door; the back bumper was missing its VIN numbers, and the front bumper was missing the shock absorbing foam. I called an attorney and they told me to have my car inspected at Rocco's Collision Center, so I did and they told me the same thing that the other guy had told me. I have the appraisal if needed. So I wrote to the General Manager at Keyes Acura. I told him that there were safety issues that were never disclosed to me at the time of purchase. The next day he called me asking me what the problem was, and that if I thought I was going to get money out of them, that he highly doubted it. I told him that the problem was that I am terrified to drive my car because if I got into an accident, I could be badly injuried. I also told him that three of his people told me that this vehicle was never in any sort of accident. He then said to me that his people would never say that, that what they would say is that my car has no frame damage and that is the only thing they gurantee against. He then told me that I could have had he car inspected before I purchased it. I feel that since I asked more than once, about the car ever being in an accident, they should have done their duty in telling me that I could have the car inspected if I wasn't sure about it. It does not help me now that everything has happened, they should have told me this before and none of his would be happening. I agreed to have my car inspected at their dealership, which I felt was unnecessary considering they had their chance to check out the car, and they missed all of this stuff. He has the nerve to tell me then, that how does he know that I didn't ruin the car. Did these guys do their training at the White House? Has it been in an accident? What do you mean by "has?" Postscript: This situation was resolved to Diana's satisfaction. |
