BEWARE NEW CAR OWNERS!!!!! Can anyone guess what is in this picture? This is a picture of a very expensive chipmunk nest inside my 2007 LEXUS GX 470. See the wirings all bitten up by the chipmunk/mouse.
I have a 2007 Gx470, proud and very happy about it, until a week ago, the engine check sign appear on the dashboard. When Englewood Lexus service checked it, I was informed that a mouse/chipmunk ate/bit on the wiring of my engine, and are nesting inside my vehicle. I was told that it was not covered by the warranty, and has to pay for repair for 700++.I was extremely disappointed that a very expensive car cannot withstand damage from a small animal, that it's wiring is so delicate. In other words, I cannot drive this SUV anywhere, that I have to ensure that there isn't any mouse or chipmunk roaming around the area that I am driving, otherwise, I am facing a repeated chipmunk attack. Anyway, three of my friends has Lexus, all of which are new cars like mine, and their lexus where also damaged by chipmunks (wires bitten, with nest inside the engine area).Surprisingly, I had been driving my old Nissan Pathfinder for the last 12 years to same area, park on the same area, live on same residence, but NEVER HAD this kind of problem. IT MAKES ME BELIEVE THAT THE MOUSE/CHIPMUNKS loves the LEXUS. It is very frustrating that I am scared to drive this state of the art, made for perfection car anywhere. Please consider looking into this problem.Me and my friends are drying to hear from LEXUS, or anyone who can help us prevent this problem. I am sending this incident not just to Lexus but also to BMW, Mercedes and other car maker, to challenge the car maker industry to find solutions and technologies as how to prevent chipmunks/mouse/rodden attacks from happening reapeatedly I ALSO URGE THAT THIS KIND OF INCIDENT BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY, AS WELL AS INSURANCE COVERAGE. THANK YOU.

I have owned 2 Lexus vehicles and have had the same problems with my car keys. I first owned a 1995 300 GS, the plastic casing on the key cracked and broke, and I was left with the metal key which was very hard to turn in the ignition. Fortunately, I had another key, but my husband did not have a key to the vehicle. We were told that a new key would cost 180 at that time. One yr. ago I purchased a 2003 RX 300, I received 2 keys to the vehicle at that time.

My daughter was driving the car one night, when she called me and stated that all the buttons on the key fell out, and when she looked at the plastic casing, she noticed that it was cracked. I checked then on the cost to replace the key, and I was told that it would cost 200. Meanwhile, I had one key left, and eventually, the key started to get weak and when I looked I noticed a crack in the plastic casing. My husband sealed the crack with krazy glue, and I thought that it would hold, one day I looked at the key, and I only had the casing. I couldn't drive my car for a couple of days until I found the key, and when I did, I realized that unlike my previous Lexus, this one would not start without the plastic casing on the key, therefore, even if I have another key made at the hardware store, it won't start my car without the casing that contains the controls. It is more than coincidental that I have had this problem with 3 out of 4 keys. Overall, I have been pleased with the service that I received from Lexus vehicles, but something as simple as a key should not take an act of congress or 200 dollars to replace, especially when it is evident that they are poorly crafted, or they would not keep breaking. I would like for Lexus to stand behind this minor defect just as they would the motor or transmission, because for the 3rd time, it is causing me major inconvenience.

2002 Lexus sc430 meticulously maintained only at lexus dealerships. The timing chain malfunctioned and the whole engine was destroyed with only 42,000 miles. The shreveport dealership was uninterested in getting assisance from corporate. Eventually they agreed to pay 25% if the engine was pieced together with new parts for a cost of 22,000. The car is worth 24K. Rwebuilt engine with 44,000 miles for the low price of 11,000. Take it or leave it tough Shit attitude. I am disgusted with this company and will never own another lexus buyer beware, High rankings in customer service???

i brought my car in for service oil change and tire sensor lights keeps popping on....after the service everything is normal according to the technician (niva salavar)..he says nothing wrong with the tire just the light keeps coming on....no need to worry he said. so i went home and soon thereafter the light comes back on a couple weeks passed by and it still keeps on coming on and i just go to the gas station and putting in air...then last night i was driving home and the tire is flat and tried to put in air and when i did that i kept hearing the air come out so i tried to feel where the air was coming out from and there was a big shred of tire coming off and the metal wires coming off also. i almost didnt make it home. i hope i explained myself clearly.
