I purchased a 2008 lexus rx 350 on 11-19-2008, it has less than 2,000 miles, all the extior chrome shows signs of corrosion, went to the dealer, was told was caused by magchloride, and I will need to wash it down daily when used in the winter, not covered under warranty, they would need to call the company to see if can be replaced at no charge, one week went by, the dealer never called, I had to drive back to the dealership, was told would be replaced, as a courtesy, one time only, after that I will need to pay if needs to be replaced, and I will need to sign a waiver once my car is fixed, before it is returned to me. I called Lexus customer service, it was difficult reaching anyone that was willing to assist me, once again was told I would be called back, I never was, I had to call them back, the Lexus customer service dept. refussed to honor my warranty, for the corrosion, stated not covered, but will be replaced one time only, free, after that I was responsible if it needed to be replaced, I told them, I feel, inferior chorme is being used, because I have a GMC DENALI that is 3 years old, and I have been driving it in the winter, not one sign of corrosion has it shown on the chrome. I have always wanted a lexus rx vehicle, now I am so sorry, I ever bought it, was thinking of replacing my older car with another lexus, but I will never ever buy another lexus vehicle. Lexus is refussing to honor the residule of my warranty of 48 months or 50,000 miles, stating once the chrome has been replaced,it will no longer be covered, if needing replaced, I will need to pay to have replaced, no where in my warranty manual does it state anything about corrosion and magchloride.

our new 2007 lexus rx350 was oversprayed with cosmoline and makes me and my family sick when we drive the car. the toxic chemical heats up and comes into the car. we cannot drive the car. lexus is aware of the problem and has done nothing to help. For some other people they refunded money and gave new cars. for us nothing except tried to wipe it off with brake cleaner fluid, because we complained we were sick and not just dealing with the odor. it is a liability. minor daughter was affected, have doctors letters stating car made us sick.many symptons:ie; sore throat , dizzy, nausea, red eyes bleeding gums, roof of mouth raw, skin problems etc. witnesses saw us sick and have an emergency room doctor letter to stay out of car.

better business bureau said to stay out of car that the fumes are dangerous and said lexus could have taken steps to remove the chemical or replace affected parts. i have an independent expert that saw a coating and smelled the odor. tried to resolve with lexus to no avail, they give me the runaround, also have address in colorado. bought car oct 11 2006. evidence the rx 330 and 350's oversprayed with cosmoline. a toxic petrol hydrocarbon

cost of car 48,000. cost of rental car, medical bills, insurance, taxes, 2800. for 7 year warranty. storage cost put car in when could not drive

Purchased 3 2008 RX 350 vehicle Feb/08. Wifee had a flat July 20/08 due to road hazard. Deployed spare to find a used tire and rim. The spare was 50% used and had damage (cut) to the rim edge. The wheel showed signs that it had been curbed beside the tire damage. The rim inner showed an extreme amount of brake dust deposits along with spots that indicated the wheel had been re-balanced in prior use. Our vehicle has never been in for service yet, and is in fact just due for the first. The spare by design is covered by a black plastic cover. As a result as trusting purchasers the spare was not inspected on delivery.

The vehicle is not safe to operate, my wife has rented a comparible vehicle. We are both mortgage brokers and require dependable transportation. This is not a strong suit of Lexus it seems.

Brought our 2000 Lexus Rx in for basic service maintenance. Was charged 2350 dollars, the day we picked it up noticed smoke coming out from the engine. Initially this was not a problem nor an issue. Brought it back the next day. Kept our car for several weeks, were advised that they were waiting on word from CORPORATe and that there was sludge in our engine. They informed us that unless we could provide them receipts of oil changes, they could not help. We did, and they never called us back. we continued calling and they reluctantly agreed to fix the engine for 2200. After we had already been charged over 2300 and had more problems that what we intially had.

Spoke to service managers, and service techs, who we had to call for weeks. Acted like they did not know this situation with this model car having sludge problems, Demanded us to show proof of oil changes, we did, and we still are being told that COrporate office will split the cost.

I own a 2003 Lexus ES300 and just found out that there is a engine gelling problem. I called Lexus customer service and they are going talk to the dealer where my car is currently serviced and see if they will cover the charges which is estimated at 4000. Sucks!
