Please note that I love my 2008 Lexus ES 350; however, I just had to replace all my four tires at approximately 19,000 miles and at a cost of approximately 580.00. The original tires had no mileage warranty. This was sad news to me! I think that the original tires should have warranty of approximately 40,000 miles. As a school principal, teachers ask me about the Lexus and so far I have not mention this draw-back regarding the original tires. I thank you for your concern and time in this matter.

I have 1999 Lexus ES300. I recently get a VSC light indicator on the dash board lite during driving. I was so concern about my safety with this car when reading the manual about this VSC that described about vehicle stability control.

I immediatly brought the car to the dealer to have it checkout and the diagnostic code shows that it's the gas valve failure and I got charged with 830 to get this fixed. The dealer told me because this has the same circuit with the VSC. This must be the safety issue since it made a false report on the safety.

I have had numerous problems with my 96 Lexus ES300 such as those described in the class action suit, but notice that it only covers 97 & up. My car had one owner before me and was meticulously maintained.

1996 Lexus ES300, one owner, bought in 2003 for 9,000 with approx. 80,000 miles. This has been the best car that I have ever owned, relatively few repairs, etc. I put on a set of new tires, and had it inspected regularly along with regular oil changes. I have had the inspection & minor repairs taken care of by a local Exxon service center.

In March of 2008, the car was running sluggishly so I took it in & they removed the valve cover, cleaned old gasket material & replaced with new gaskets (cost 448.03); in January of 08 it had throttle bore service.

The car now has about 143,000 miles. Since having the gasket/valve work done, it seemed to go through a lot of oil and when I started the car it would emit a lot of smoke initially but ran fine otherwise. It passed inspection fine in May of 2008.

On 11/14 the car began running poorly and the check engine light came on. When I took it in, Exxon told me that the test failed systems & sensors; the gentleman told me that it was spraying oil into the engine and it was only a matter of time (3 days or 3 months ... he couldn't tell me). Said it would cost several thousand to rebuild the engine.

I am presently unemployed (was recently laid off) & do not have any funds to buy a new car. Any advice? Should I get a second opinion or is the car shot?

I am a single mother, recently laid off, & unable to afford a new car.

I have two hybrids--Toyota Lexus 400h and Prius. I have had no problems with the Prius and gas mileage is excellent. With the Lexus I have noticed surging when braking at low speeds. Have not driven the car a lot so have not experienced high speed acceleration. Second issue I have with Lexus hybrid--if not driven regularly--every two weeks or so--the battery goes dead. I am told that it has 42 computers that drain the battery and that the car must be driven regularly.

So much for leaving the car in an airport parking lot while on a month long vacation. I suggested that the price of the Lexus 400h should include a tow truck. Otherwise, I love both vehicles. They just need some engineering changes.

I have a 2002 Lexux RX300 that started to burn oil in Feb 2008. I took it to the Tacoma Wash dealer, where I bought the car and was told their are no leaks just keep an eye on it. I then more or less put the car in storage as I bought a new truck and needed to put some miles on it before I drove it to Santa Fe NM. The car had an extended warrenty that was good until July of 2008.

I then drove the car from Bremerton Wash to New Mexcio in Oct of 2008. It used 6 quarts of oil on the trip. I took it to the Lexus dealer in Albqueque and ended up having the piston rings, valve guides, and valve seals replaced. I complained to Lexus telling them I identified this problem to then in Feb when the warrenty was in effect but was blown off. They agreed to pay for parts(1400.00) but I was to pay labor (2985.00).

Can I get that money back? If they had done the same diagnose as the Albqueque dealer did in Feb they would have found the problem and coverd the entire amount.
The engine had to be pulled , the heads pulled and the piston rings, valve guides and valve seals had to be replaced.I had to pay for the labor to make the repairs. 2985.00.
