Wally McCarthy's Chevrolet CadillacForest Lake, MN |

Clay of Saint Francis, MN October 15, 2009 My Wife & I purchased a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado from Wally McCarthy's Chevrolet on 10/01/2007 and have had issues with it since then. It is a LEMON. We have followed the maintenance schedule yet this vehicle constantly has issues. Here are the major issues so far: 1. On 1/23/2008 ( 3mos after purchase ) The truck completely died while we were driving it. No electrical, etc. Had to be towed to the dealership. Dealership found the ECM ( Main computer) was bad and had to be replaced. Was done under warranty. 2. In the end of May 2009, we noticed a tapping sound coming from the engine, we contactd the dealerships service department and were told that is "normal" nosie as that particular engine model was noisy. The sound became louder so we brought it into the dealership on 3/26/2009. At first they ( service dept.) said there was no noise, but after they changed the oil they heard it also. They discovered the #3 Rocker and pushrod were chewed up and replaced them. 3. In May of 2009, once again the engine started making a tapping noise, because or our prior experience we contacted the dealership again, and the service department was skeptical again and rude. They insisted it was normal. The noise became louder so we brought it into the dealership on 6/4/2009. The service dept. heard the nosie right away this time. They found that the #5 rocker arm and pushrod were worn/chewed and replaced them. It is now October of 2009 and yet AGAIN, the engine is making a loud tapping noise ( which I have recorded ). We have to take it to the dealership again!!! The truck is now past it's mileage warranty and we will have to pay for repairs. HOW MANY TIMES DOES IT TAKE TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE BEFORE A VEHICLE IS CONSIDERED A LEMON! This vehicle is a considerable investment for my family. The really sad/frustrating part is the same model truck sells for thousands of dollars less because of the economy. We cant even trade it in because more is owed on it than what it is worth!
