I have been doing regular oil changes on my car. At 36K miles my 2007 Nissan Maxima started burning oil and I have taken to the dealerships and the only thing they can tell me is that the car needs a new engine. My car is sill under warranty and they will not honor the warranty because they blame me for non-maintenance. I have the oil change service records to prove it. They charge me the diagnostic charge to put the car on the machine to look at it, but never done it. I seeked an attorney to represent me, they sent a tech down to the dealership who only took the valve covers off, took pictures of the sludge which had built up because the oil is burning, has no where to go which is causing the catalytic converter to get stopped up. I cannot afford to keep making 500 payments and pay for 12K in repairs.

It has caused us serious more damage to the car with the catalytic converter damaged and along with transportation problems as thats my only means of transportation.

I own a 2006 maxima, went in to have a dignostic because my car was making a noise as if the transmission was going. The mechanic told me even before getting inside the car he knew the poblem, from 2004-2006 he has sen alot of maximas cme in because the body valve in the transimmison is damaged. The service guy confirmed the story.

my question is if you have all these cars with the same problem why is nissan not doing anything about this to fix it. obviously it was not me that damaged the car. I am extremely disappointed with nissan. their suggestion was to get a neew trasnmision or trade in the car...how convinient for them! I regret ever purchasing a nissan!

I have spent 300 hanging motor mounts that i was told were damaged and to have flush done. I owned a honda and sold it with 200k miles NEVER had a flush...why do i need this! ITS ABOUT GETTING PEOPLES MONEY!

Two weeks ago, I heard a noise underneath my Nissan Maxima 3.5 SE. I decided to take it up to Performance Nissan. The Maintenance Manager came back with a diagnostics saying the rotors are dirty and so must be resand. In addition they will flush out all the fluids all the cost of 386.00. As good as I haave taken care of the Maxima, I did not hesitate to tell him to go ahead. About an hour and half later, he came back with my bill and having given them the benefit of doubt, I paid the amount fully. Just as I was about to drive out of the lot, I heard the same noise which meant they did not do any work on it but charged me for it.

After driving a few miles down the street, I returned to the dealership to report the situation. I was given a rental so they could look at it again. I received a call around 7.30 p.m. that my ABS Actuator or control is not working and it will cost me 1700 (labor included to fix). I was really shocked that they had told me earlier that it was the rotors and now the ABS, which meant that the 386.00 I paid earlier was not justified. For the past few weeks I haven't been able to drive the vehicle. It is sitting at the dealership parking lot. I think I deserved to be treated better than this. By that I mean they should fix the ABS system for free since after an hour of diagnostics confirmed it was the Rotors. I love the Maxima but am truly disturbed by the situation. I truly need some help here. Thanks.

The consequence is that i'll have to share one car with my wife who works in Seattle (about 45 miles away). After work, I have to wait for her for about 6 hours before I get home. This is very sad.

The ABS pump in the Maxima is defective. The car is only a few years old and this should not happen. If you visit Maxima.org, you can see on the forum that everyone with an '04 Maxima has an ABS problem. This needs to be recalled and Nissan should fix these. This is over 1000 of work from the mechanic. We have owned 6 Nissans and this is the only time this has ever happened.

This is going to cost a lot of money to fix. THe ABS pump is necessary for the brakes. The pump not working resulting in the car being dangerous to drive. It also makes a very obnoxious sound.

Bought this car new since family had good luck with older Maximas in the late 90s but this one has been a disappointment. CD changer replaced 3 times for freezing up, lumbar support dead twice, center console arm support snapped, grille replaced for paint chipping, paint in general isn't great but the thing that I'm dealing with now is fighting with Nissan cause clutch and flywheel failed. Nissan even came out and said its happenned to their clutches before.

Nissan originally said theyd take care of it but then wouldnt call me back, constantly and even said they wouldnt pay for it even if my mechanic found it defective which he did. (He still has the clutch and flywheel and says he'll stand by me if need be in this matter) Mechanics say its a defect but Nissan says its regular wear and tear. Funny how that works.

I do like driving this car but its put a sour taste in my mouth especially with how Nissan corporate treats its customers. They didnt call back; I had to initiate everything. They repeatedly told me my case was closed even when I even told them not to close it. The regional supervisor even yelled at me just constantly repeating Nissan made its decision and that shes the end all be all and she wont escalate the problem any further even though the mechanic I took it to said there is no way a clutch fails like that. I'm tired of this car. I have a list of people I talked to.

Had to pay for a new clutch and flywheel out of pocket 1600 plus rental car and missed days of work when Nissan initially said it should be covered under warranty.
