Charles of Dallas, TX August 22, 2003 I own a 1998 nissan 240sx se I took my car in to the trophy nissan dealership. My car was under warranty. The cars clutch squeaks when it is engaged. I was told that it was a simple problem. The bearings in the clutch needed to be replaced, I was told that this was not covered by my current service contract. I was told that the clutch is in working order, but i would have to live with the squeak unless I chose to have it fixed. I did not choose to have it fixed. I have discovered that other people that have the same make and model have the same problem. I contacted Nissan to inquire if they had any data on this problem. I asked if someone could compile this information to see if it could possible be a recall item. Thus far I have had no response or contact from Nissan. Marcia of Garland, TX March 14, 2003 I went into Trophy Nissan to look at pre-owned vehicles. I had received a sales ad in the mail and it stated all cars had payments listed clearly on the window. Sounded good to me. Of course when things sound too good to be true they usually are. I was met before parking my car by a guy named Bernard. He said he needed to fill out a survey for the sale before showing me any cars. He did and all it included was my name address and phone number. I signed nothing. He then left the room and I went outside with my son to wait. Much time passed before I decided to take my son and go look at what was on the lot for myself. We did however stay close to the front so if Bernard came back he would see us. On the windows of some of the vehicles were signs with down payments like 19 down and 554 a month, you know ridiculous prices for anyone who had been looking at used cars lately. Further, not all of the vehicles had the prices on them as was stated in their ad. Finally after walking around the lot a bit my son and I went back up front to find our salesman. Some other salesman whose name I did not get, came up to me and said "Ma'am you have no credit" (this I already knew and had shared with Bernard). However in this guys hand was a copy of my credit report which I did not authorize. I was immediately ticked. And I let him know it. He said "Well did you give him your Social Security number or drivers licence number?" I told him I had not. He then said "Well he must have guessed it then", in a very demeaning tone. This just made the situation escalate. I asked for a manager and got one of the sales managers, Fred who listened about what had transpired and the fact that they illegally pulled my credit file without my authorization, and said he would do some checking and be back in a minute. Twenty minutes later another guy came in, a step above Fred I assume, and I explained again and asked him if it was their business practice to break the law and pull peoples credit report without their authorization to do so because I know it is illegal. He said he would go talk to some people and would be right back. Another twenty minutes went by. Then yet another person came in and I went through the whole thing again. He said he would talk to their manager and see what they could do. So I waited even longer this time and in came the original salesman Bernard. He apologized and said it was a mistake what they had done and tried to show me cars then after waiting in the place nearly two hours. When he left to go get one my son and I left. Buyer beware of these people because in my opinion if they will do illegal things prior to you becoming a customer, what will they do when they think they have your trust. April of Garland, TX February 4, 2003 I was leasing a Nissan Quest from Trophy Nissan and 7 months before the lease was up we decided to lease another vehicle and turn the Quest in. I spoke with Scott who after speaking with the men in the box stating they could get me out of my current lease and into a new one with no problem. We worked through all the paperwork and was advised to make the current months payment on the Quest and that I had to put the first month payment for the new car down. All of this I did and three months later I receive a bill from NMAC for over 700. Each time I called about it I got a different story. First it was property tax then it was late fees. Come to find out Trophy Nissan did not pay the lease off. Instead of 7 payments they only paid 6 and I got stuck with the rest. When I asked them why? Their answer was we said we'd only pay 6 payment. Why would they only pay 6?? I also found out that they did not even pay the entire 6 payments and they did pay that. I trusted them when they stated that the 6 payments would pay the vehicle off? That was dumb of me and I got stuck with the balance. I paid the bill off and that was about 4 months ago. Now guess what I got in the mail this week? Another bill for 2002 property taxes over 400. I will make it my mission in life to tell everyone how dishonest this company is and although I love my car I tell everyone not to go to Trophy Nissan.... John of Cedar Hill, TX July 30, 2002 In February of 1999 my wife (Leslie) purchased a, brand new, 1999 Nissan Sentra GXE TX Lic#: D44-NKR, VIN #: 1N4AB41D1XC722387, with the bumper-to-bumper warrantee from Trophy Nissan in Mesquite Texas. Six months later she had a tire blowout due, apparently, to an alignment problem. We took the car back to Trophy Nissan to have the alignment checked. The service manager said that it did need a four-wheel alignment, which would run us in excess of 100. I asked about the bumper-to-bumper warrantee, that my wife purchased at the time she bought the car & was told that she was two weeks past due for a scheduled check-up so the warrantee didn’t cover the alignment. I was furious! I asked my wife to take the car somewhere else to get the alignment done, instead of paying those CROOKS again to do the same thing that should have been covered by the warrantee she had ALREADY purchased. She disregarded my advice & paid Trophy Nissan for the alignment. Since that time we have had to replace 6 more tires on her car. I took the car to a Goodyear service center to find out why the tires were wearing out so quickly. The technician informed me that the problem was bent struts. Now the car is three years old but, has had the same problem since it was purchased, & apparently Nissans bumper-to-bumper warrantees are no better that their cars or their service centers. On Wednesday 24 July 2002, I was contacted by Jim W, the Assistant Manager of Trophy Nissan, who was concerned about my complaint & he asked that I bring the car in on Saturday 27 July 2002 so that they could try and correct the problem. I took the car in & 5 Hours later I received a call from the Service Rep. stating that the Struts seemed to be operating correctly, I responded that the problem was that they are bent not that they weren’t working, he went on to say that If I bought a new set of tires that they would GIVE me another alignment FREE. I asked him to just check the struts alignment. He said that our car had never been at Trophy Nissan because it didn’t show up on their computers. I pointed out to him that we bought the car at Trophy Nissan, as well as had a four wheel alignment done there. I was then told that unless I had proof they weren’t liable & refused to help me. I searched & found the original Window sticker & Owners manual for the car & showed it to a Mr. Wayne P, the Service Director for Trophy Nissan, who said the computers there AUTOMATICALLY DELET Records more than two years old (good way to cover up past mistakes) but he said that he would look into it. Later that day Mr. Pritchard called me & was now saying that though they agree NOW, that we did purchase the car there they had no record of the Extended Bumper-to Bumper Warranty purchased for the car or the four-wheel alignment that they had done, but they would give us an alignment on the car for Half price. So, if I pay Half Price they would do another Alignment that they screwed up on the first time after charging us for something that should have been covered under the Extended Bumper-to Bumper Warranty. I refused; I do not reward incompetence. As stated before, Apparently Nissan’s cars are no better that their bumper-to-bumper warrantees or their service centers. Lidia of Dallas, TX July 30, 2001 I work for the independent schools in Dallas. I normaly get a part time job until school starts. I've been without a vehicle since April 5, 2001. I got rear ended and was not able to drive my car. After two weeks my insurance took over my claim, because the other parties involved would not return my calls. My insurance said that they would only pay for four weeks one a rental car for me. I was then authorized to call Trophy Nissan in mesquite to pick up my car for repairs. They kept my car until July 18, 2001, when they called me after many phone calls . They oringinly quoted that it would take them four to six weeks to repair my car. I frequently called him and there was always something like we ordered parts that hadn't yet arrived, etc... William of Lawton, OK June 23, 2001 On June 21, 2001, I called the Trophy Nissan dealership, trying to locate a 2001 Bayshore Blue Nissan Pathfinder SE in Bayshore Blue. I spoke to Demard and asked specifically if he had a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder in Bayshore Blue for sale on the lot. It needed to be the price listed in the Dallas Morning News on 06/09/01 (23,995). Demard said he would go out and search the lot and see if he could find one. He called me back about an hour later. I asked him again if he was sure he had a 2001 Bayshore Blue Nissan Pathfinder SE in on the lot in Mesquite for 23,995 complete with a 6 CD disc changer, automatic transmission, and 3.9% financing. Demard repeatedly assured me that this was correct: Trophy Nissan had that vehicle on the lot at that price with those options. At that time, I provided Demard with all the personal information needed to complete a credit check so that I could drive four hours from Lawton, Oklahoma, to Misquite, Texas, to pick the vehicle up the next day. (Note: I had already searched Oklahoma for this vehicle in this color. I was excited that I had located the car I had dreamed of). About an hour later, Demard called back to report that my credit was good and I had been approved to purchase this vehicle. I asked him again: Are you SURE Trophy Nissan has a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder SE in Bayshore Blue on the lot in Mesquite for 23,995 complete with the options I asked for? He again assured me that this was true. I drove four hours from Lawton to Mesquite on June 22, very excited about picking up my new car in the color I had searched for. Much to my surprise, when I arrived, I discovered that there was no 2001 Nissan Pathfinder SE in Bayshore Blue on the lot. Demard also informed me that the price he had agreed was correct was only for a standard shift, not an automatic. Then he showed me a Nissan Pathfinder LE in Bayshore Blue for a much higher price (9000 more) and told me this was all they had. Report Your Experience
