George of Beaufort SC (02/19/09)
On 2/19/2009 I went to store CF1501 in Beaufort, SC for an oil change. I was informed by the lady taking my card to process the payment that the total would be 44.00 dollars and change. I asked her why it was so expensive when I normally paid within the 30.00 range. She stated You have the high mileage oil. I told her that in the past I was always asked what I preferred and she told me that in the notes for my vehicle I had ordered the high mileage order the last time I brought the vehicle in. I have NEVER ordered the high mileage oil and told her so, and of course she insisted I did. I could not and do not understand how a supposed prior order of high mileage oil should cause Valvoline to assume that they should automatically charge me for the higher priced product and install it on subsequent visits.

I am wondering why every other time I have been to Valvoline I was always asked whether or not I wanted the more expensive Max Life oil. Apparently it was convenient and potentially profitable to discern what my wishes were when it might have led to me choosing a more expensive product, but no choice was offered when I supposedly had in the notes for my vehicle that the more expensive option had been chosen in the past. Why did I get asked on every prior occasion what I preferred and the assumption was not made that I wanted the less expensive oil that should have been in the notes from all the times I ordered it before?

Fortunately I paid attention and noticed the topside technician carrying the bottles of Max Life and setting them on the engine and told him I wanted the standard oil that I ALWAYS have gotten. I found it highly odd that I was being charged PRIOR to the oil actually being changed. This practice is careless at best and downright deceptive at worst. I will not be entrusting the care of my vehicle to this store or ANY Valvoline store again.

Valvoline has a sign saying they take competitors coupons. I had a coupone for a free oil change they wouldnt take it. So it cost me 47.99 I ask about coupon i was told they only take the ones they want so after oil change was done he took off 10.00 dollars still cost me 39.55. If sign say they honor competitors them they should no matter what the coupon says.

I brought my truck into Valvoline Oil Change before I made a trip across the U.S. They gave me a complete diagnosis included was a statement that said my Transmission fluid was good. By the time I made it to my final destination my transmission had ceased up. When I took it to the dealership they told me that my transmission fluid was contaminated and that is why it failed.

After contacting Valvoline they told me that they made a mistake and accidently printed that my fluid was good when in fact they didn't even have the tools to check the transmission because it was a sealed transmission whith no dipstick. My transmission failed because they did a misprint on my invoice. If they had done their job correctly I could have either returned the vehicle to the dealership I just bought it from or had the bad transmission fluid flushed and made my trip just fine.

Even though I have several documentation and statements from Toyota techs supporting my case, Valvoline and their insurance are refusing to compensate me. Now I am a victim who has a truck with a ceased transmission and a 4,500 repair bill when I was simply a paying constomer who trusted the professionals at Valvoline to do there jobs correctly. I am appauled that they are trying to weazle their way out of responsibility.

My transmission ceased and is now costing me 4,500 to replace, plus the four weeks that I have been without a truck! It is very difficult to carry on your daily life without transportation

On 11/12/08 I had the oil changed at Valvoline Instant Oil Change at Asheville, NC. On 11/14/08 the car(2008 Honda Civic) stopped running. The car no longer had an oil plug and the oil was completly drained out. I had it towed to my home and contacted VIOC. They had it towed to a Honda dealership where they replaced the drain plug, refilled it with oil and tested the engine. Valvoline then told me it was not their responsibility.

I had the vehicle towed twice, lost the use of the car for three days and was left with the towing and Honda bills.

Had AC service performed. Was informed AFTER service was done about no gaurantee of AC service. AC worked for 3 minutes. Was basically told I was out-of-luck. Manager did not seem to be worried about customer satisfaction. Paid 109 for 3 minutes of AC!
