I am annoyed! I went in for an oil change at the Cartersville store yesterday. I had to wait for 45-1hr. to get my oil changed because ALL of the techs were working on a 4-wheel tire changed. Excuse me, but isn't there supposed to be at least one person in the oil change section? In addition, a Hispanic male comes to me and tells me (after waiting all of this time) that he could not do my oil change because my plug was stripped and if he did, I would have to have my car towed and all of this crap! I guess I am a DUMB FEMALE and I did not notice that he only had 15 min. to change my oil since I had been there for close (if not over) an hour and I had to be somewhere by 6. I left at 5:30 and still did not have my oil change but a ton of worry about my car and its NEW problem. I will go and find out is this guy was lying to me...which I am convienced that he was. This is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It took me almost two hours to get nothing and the 4 wheel guy has all of the techs. This is the first time and last time I will visit this store for anything short of having to get an emergency tire or something. I have choices and it will not be this Service Dept. The guy in the front counter was really nice.

Hopefully you can help. I had an oil change done at a Wal-Mart in Fredericksburg, Va. The technician did not remove the old oil filter gasket before installing the new oil filter. Early one morning on my way to work, [about 10 days or so after I had the oil change done] all the oil leaked out of car. It stated in my drive way (you can still see the oil trail down the driveway and onto the road in front of my house).

I made it about 3 miles from my house, before the oil light came on. I pulled into a Shell Station and checked the oil. There was no oil, so I put 3 quarts back into the car, checked the oil again, and then started the car up. I backed up the car and saw a huge puddle of oil were the car was. So I backed up the car into a parking spot and called AAA. AAA towed my car to my mechanic. My mechanic checked over the car and found that the oil filter was installed wrong by Wal-Mart.

I went to Wal-Mart and talked to the store manager G. Howardson. I told him that the engine in my car was damaged and needs to be replaced. He told they would take care of it, for me to get some repair quotes (which I have) and they would file a claim to their insurance carrier. The Insurance Carrier called and I spoke with Kerry Veach. I told him what happened and he asked me if I called Wal-Mart when I was broke down. [Why would I call Wal-Mart at 5:30 in the morning to come look at my car?] I replied no. He said that since no one from Wal-Mart saw the oil filter before my mechanic replaced it, they are not liable for the damage, because my mechanic tampered with the evidence.

I have the oil filter and the two gaskets, my mechanic drove my car two days prior to the incident to test the new breaks he put on it. There was no engine knocking/damage then. Is there any help you give to get this resolved? Thank you. The engine in my car is damaged and I want them to replace it.

On April 4,2009, my husband and I took our 1998 Toyota Corolla into Walmart to have the oil changed. The oil change took about 13 minutes and no one ever called us to let us know that the job was done. On April 6, 2009, I drove the car to school to register for Summer semester classes and noticed a burning oil smell for a moment as I got out of the car but didn't check the engine at this point.

Today, April 8, 2009, my husband noticed oil drops on the ground as I was leaving to go to class. Upon arriving at school, I noticed the burning oil smell again, but this time smoke was coming out from under the hood. I opened the hood and saw the oil cap wedged between the engine and distributor valve covers. Oil had saturated everything and was pouring out of the top of the engine hole. Additionally, the acid cap cover to the battery was also hanging open and acid had sloshed all over the battery. I had to drive across the street and add a quart of oil to the engine. I'm hoping the engine block in not damaged beyond repair.

Tomorrow I'll be taking the car back to Walmart to address this the issue. If they don't accept responsibility for their negligence, if may cost them in the end.

Had oil changed paid for it. Got in my vehicle and computer said add oil. Went and got worker he checked oil, no oil on the dipstick. He got manager oil had been drained but they didn't put any back in. Told several people about it and they knew people that had the same thing happen to them.

Brand new truck and my engine has a faint ticking sound in the motor. I just never had them change oil again. Made them write up the information and place on document in thier computer system.

well my motor blew, my kids misssed 3 days of school, missed 2 interviews, my boyfriend missed 3 days of work so far

Amy of Boyd, TX April 3, 2009

I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THEY FORGOT TO PUT NEW OIL BACK IN IT. I NOTICED THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON ABOUT 1/2 MILE DOWN THE ROAD. I PULLED INTO A AS STATION AN CALLED THE MANAGER. THEY CAME DOWN TO THE STORE ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER AND CHECKED IT. AT FIRST THEY ACTED LIKE I LET THE OIL OUT. ITS A NEW CAR, THEY WERE VERY LUCKY IT DIDN'T BLOW MY MOTOR. I WILL NEVER TAKE IT BACK THERE FOR ANTHING. AND THEY ALSO DIDN'T PUT THE TOP BACK ON TOP OF THE MOTOR THAT COVERS IT.

Johnny of Conroe, TX April 2, 2009

Went to Wal-Mart today for my usual oil change. The service tech said they were on schedule and it should only be 30 to 45 minutes. After an hour they summoned me and explained that the plug to my Jetta's oil pan was stripped and could not be repaired. They also proceeded to tell me it was probably my fault and they were not responsible. I had a very stern discussion with the manager and she finally agreed to repair the damage. However, still feels it was not due to their negligence. I explained that it is inconvenient for me to change my own oil and that I am a loyal customer.

Ultimately, my car ended up in an auto repair shop and the mechanic there said this is a very common problem with Wal-Mart. He also said I'm the fifth person this week he has seen due to the same situation from the same store. My car is not fixed yet and I'll find out more tomorrow.

April of Lahoma, OK April 2, 2009

I ran over some roofing nails that were in the middle of the road. I decided that, since I needed to get groceries anyway, I would just take it to walmart so there wouldn't be a rush. When I got there, the young man said that he was the only one there and that it may be 2 hours. (We live 15 miles away, so we decided to wait.) When we were done and checked out, we walked back to Automotive. No one asked what car was ours. So, after 20 more minutes of waiting, and my 2 year old starting to have a meltdown, I went up to the desk and asked about our car (I was still trying to be polite at this time.)

The lady pulled our papers immediately and said that it was done. I looked out in the garage and there were 4 guys just standing around doing nothing. How come they didn't call our name was beyond me! We paid and was told that the guys, that were standing around doing nothing, still had our keys. We walked out and stood outside the bay doors for another 5 minutes before I finally had to ask to get our keys!

This did not cost us anything except the fact that this was so rude and inconsiderate, especially with the fact that they knew we had a 2 year old waiting with us.

got my oil changed an car blew up on way home

loss of work no car now

Linda of Joshua, TX March 22, 2009

I took my 2003 PT Cruiser in to have the oil changed and my tires balanced and rotated. When I left Walmart, I didn't notice two of the center wheel caps were missing. When I got home and noticed, I called right back to Walmart and spoke with Bud, who is a courteous employee. He said he would look and see if they were still in the shop area. I called him back and he said sorry they were not. The other two caps, by the way, were loose and had been put on incorrectly and were bent at the clasp. I think Walmart should buy me new caps. I did some research and they are 18 each. So, I would like them to either give me 72 plus tax or buy them and give them to me so my husband can do it correctly without bending the clasps. Thank you. Linda McMurtray

Loss of four center wheel covers-2003 PT Cruiser. Two lost in Walmart Auto and two damaged by their mechanic trying to force onto wheel and bending clasps.
