Had an oil change. Drove away & approx. 15 - 20 minutes later my car was making a high pitched noise & was wanting to stall. I took it to a mechanic & now he says I need a new transmission. The car is a 2002 PT Cruiser with 39,500 miles on it. I have never had any problems with it what so ever. The mechanic I took it to asked me if I ever had anything done with the transmission. I told him no. He stated that it has recently been worked on. I have had the car for over a year & a half now. This could be totally coincidenal. I dont know. But all the mechanics I have talked to about this problem find it rather odd. I even called Crystler & the man there told me that they have had so many cars brought to them after having the oil changed at Wal-mart & he would like to send Wal-mart a Christmas card for all the work they have given them.

Transmission failure

Ruth of Hampton, VA March 17, 2009

My mom took my car to Walmart to have my oil changed. About 2 weeks after the oil change I was driving on the interstate when my car started stalling. The oil light immediately came on and then my car cut off. It would not start. I had my car towed to a friends house. Two days later I had my car towed to a mechanics shop. The mechanic looked at it and came back and told me there wasn't any oil in it and that had cause my motor to go out. I could not believe what he was telling me. I was furious.

I called my mom and told her what the mechanic had told me. She then advised me to contact Walmart to make them aware of the situation.I talked to 3 different people. They all advised me to fill out a claim form. I did fill out a claim form but have not heard anything from anyone representing Walmart. I've been without transpotation for 2 weeks now and I'm very, very fustrated with the situation.

My motor was blown out due to lack of oil.

my wife and i decided to move across canada,we had gottin an oil change at wal mart grand falls new brunswick,by the time we hit saskatoon, pleasently in minus 50 degree weather our oil filter falls off,my engine light came on and i pulled over as soon as i could, the car stalled before i could slowed down safely onto the shoulder of the road. MY MOTOR IS BLOWN UP!! im stranded and walmart is to thank.

i keep getting the runaround from walmart fake reprisentitives , its a scam to make your insurence come good for the damages..... i am going to do everything in my power too see that walmart never lets this happen again , with there 3rd rate romper room oil changing services, they need to come good for what happened .I NEED A LAWYER ,

Aside from my car blowing up from irresponsible negligence , my wife and i had to sit in minus 50 weather on the side of the high way, called the 1-800 assistance guarenteed number, and the number was closed , so we are on the side of the highway, freezing, couldnt get anyone pulled over to help us at 10:30 on a sunday night in a place we dont know anything about. conveniently im to blame for my oil filter falling out . ive missed work, my wife missed work, we are heading down hill because of this. THIS IS A NEW CAR, WE ARE NOT DONE PAYING FOR IT YET, AND ITS THAT PARTICULAR WALMARTS FAULT IT FELL OFF, NOT MINE , NOW FIX IT.BOYCOTT UNCERTIFIED OIL CHANGERS FROM WALMART. JUST BECAUSE THERE CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS OUT , DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE CERTIFIED .

I gotten my oil changed it this WalMart and the day after my vehicle was broken into and my stereo was stolen out of the dashboard. The odd thing is, the personal at WalMart were THE ONLY people in my vehicle to know that I had an expensive stereo in it.

Not thinking they have my home address, vehicle make, model and license as well as knowing there was no aftermarket alarm, only the factory one and how to break-in without it going off, it seemed to theirs for the taking. So beware where you get your vehicle serviced or you might get more then you asked for!!!

My vehicle ended up with body damage by the window that was used as the entry point, the busted out window, broken dashboard not to mention the now missing stereo, bluetooth telephone adaptor and i-pod adaptor cable.

Dayshima of Newport News, VA March 7, 2009

I took my car for a battery change when i pick my car my stero was not playing and it was in perfect condition before walmart replaced my battery I try to use my radio code to reboot my streo but nothin works I made a claim with walmart and they say the are not liable It cost 1700 to replace my stero I wish someone could help me because this is not fair I though walmart cared about the consumers but they dont care!

I feel emotin stress about this because I have to now spend extra money for a radio My vehicle isnt the same since i had my battery replace at walmart.

Katie of Rotonda West, FL March 4, 2009

I bought a package they offer where you pay for a higher amount to have your tires rotated and balanced and they will rotate and balance them for the life of the tires. I went back to have them rotated and was told since they do not carry that brand of tires they can no longer rotate and balance them. They will no longer have my business or people that i have been referring since i THOUGHT it was a good program.

We took our car a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer to Walmart for it's regular oil change and vehicle checkup. During the checkup it came to our attention that the transmission dipstick had been broken off and they could not check the fluid in the transmission. They said they did not do it and that it most likely happened the oil change before which was also at a Walmart. At that time we ask B. Byrd if it was okay to drive the vehicle and he said yes. One week later the transmission locked up and had to be towed to a transmission specialist who said the failure was do to lack of fluid in the transmission.

We feel that in fact the dipstick was broke off at the previous oil change by a Walmart employee and he simply got rid of that part of the dipstick and signed off on the transmission to relieve himself of blame not telling us the the stick had been broken and unable to check the fluid. If he would have informed us of this issue it could have been solved with out the 2900 cost for a transmission rebuild.

We filed a claim with CMI (Claims Management Inc.). we dealt with a Barb there who was rude talked down to us and even called the mechanic at the transmission shop a liar and that the transmission had to have a leakage issue and she would have to deny the claim he explained to her that there were no leaks and it was a Walmart topping off issue. When CMI received the statements from the Walmart fluid checkers not mechanics (which barb at CMI called them) they had changed the statements made and told her that they never told us it was okay to drive the vehicle and did not recall placing blame on the previous Walmart oil change.

We went to our Attorney's office on 2-27-09 and are in the process of suing Walmart and CMI. Please take our advice and never let Walmart fluid checkers touch your vehicle as the internet shows that they have more complaints than praises. This will be taken to the next level and will make it a life long goal to expose Walmart Automotive. We would love to start a class action suit against Walmart and CMI. If anyone reading this has had a problem with Walmart Automotive would like to join this class action please notify us as we have a attorney that would love to do it.

Transmission cost 2900 3 weeks without the vehicle Treated like a idiot and lied to.

I took my truck to get a oil change on Feb 20th 09, and lube the chasise, and they told me that they would also vacume the intior. When I got home I noticed that there were greese arm smeares on my white paint, bothe sides of my front fenders, and they only vacumend around the floor mats but not under them. And I got under the truck to see if it was done write and shure enough, no they did not greese my truck. The greese fitings were still coverd in dirt, and not tuched. Thats how I knew.

Phillip of Springfield, VT February 23, 2009

two occasions. first was a Mcpherson strut replacement. The idiots melted my CV joint boot with a torch. Shouldn't have given them a second chance. second. bought a new battery, the idiot left a pair of vice grips under the hood resulting in a dented hood. You must bear in mind, these so called service technicians can't make it anywhere else. I don't know why Walmart cant pay a decent enough wage to attract better people.

Lori of Dahlonega, GA February 20, 2009

I took my 03 Volkswagen Jetta for a simple oil change earlier in the Fall of 2008. When I got my car back, it was running very rough. I returned to Wal-Mart and they had loosened a vacuum hose and disconnected a sensor. This was corrected and my car ran perfect. I thought this was just a fluke and would not happen again. Took my car in on 2/14/09 for another oil change and tire rotation. Got my car back and again it was running extremely rough.

Returned to Wal-Mart (raising Cain and asking for the store manager who never showed) and again there were two hoses that had been loosened during my oil change. The technicians test drove my car and it is still running extremely rough and they couldn't find anything else that may have been disconnected. I received an apology and a 25 gift card. I thought maybe the culprit was a fouled spark plug. All spark plugs and wires have been replaced and my car still runs [badly]. I even put fuel injector cleaner in it.

I have an appointment with a Volkswagen dealership on 2/25 for them to find the hose or sensors that are still disconnected or repair damage Wal-Mart may have caused to my engine. I'm taking my receipt to Wal-Mart and I hope they have the decency to reimburse me. I will NOT darken their door again for groceries or any other necessities.
