This service doesn’t publish pricing online, so it’s hard to make direct price comparisons and determine what you’ll pay for specific features. For businesses with no-frills payroll needs, ADP might offer more services and features than you’ll actually use.

ADP products

ADP’s payroll service software allows businesses to pay employees and keep track of payroll data for tax filings and compliance. The features and costs of ADP products depend on the plan you choose, the size of your business and the level of customization you need in your plan.

ADP offers HR and payroll software. Many different products are available and can be accessed through a centralized platform:

  • Payroll: Run payments for employees, navigating any applicable tax and regulatory standards.

It includes 24/7 customer support, tax filing, reporting, an employee portal, new hire reporting, payroll delivery, automatic payroll, direct deposit, a debit card program for consumers, multicompany management and multijurisdiction payroll functionality. You also get background checks, state and federal resources, employment verification, new hire self-onboarding, employee discount and wellness programs, a digital HR storefront and Google Ads setup and management features.
  2. ADP Enhanced Payroll: Everything in ADP Essential Payroll is included. Also, you get compliance posters you can post at your business, integration with ZipRecruiter software, payment service for employees with wage garnishment, state unemployment insurance management and ADPCheck checking. This package also helps you track and review expenses associated with particular jobs.
  3. ADP Complete Payroll & HR Plus: Everything in ADP Enhanced Payroll is included. You also get access to live support, software that helps you build an employee handbook, ideas to help with finding the right salary ranges for jobs, templates you can use in your human resource activities, a compliance database that’s updated regularly so you can follow laws and regulations in your local area, a tool that helps you create job descriptions, human resource forms and documents, human resource tracking, alerts and notifications, and a collection of forms and ideas you can use in hiring and managing your team.
  4. ADP HR Pro: Everything in ADP Complete Payroll & HR Plus is included. You also get an applicant tracking system, employee assistance program; learning management system, business and marketing tools with live advice; access to Upnetic legal services software; and access to a proactive HR support team.

In addition to these packages for payroll, ADP offers other apps and custom features. Many of ADP’s features are designed primarily for enterprise business needs. If your organization has other needs that aren’t listed in existing packages, you can ask ADP about its additional services.

Although these plans are detailed on ADP’s website along with information about your options as a customer, ADP doesn’t publish pricing online for its software and services.     Horrible people at ADP. I’m not sure why none of them can comprehend to change my cell phone number and update it so I can access my ADP account. It’s very frustrating that I’ve reported this to my employer five times and he’s told ADP to update my cell phone number and remove my old phone number for verification.

      We use ADP for our company payroll, and we have run into so many issues with the filing of our South Carolina payroll taxes. (We file for 3 states and only SC is a problem for them.) They either do not file it at all, file it and it is rejected, and they do not follow through until you ask for a supervisor to call you, and even then the problem just "goes away" somehow. When I open a ticket for a problem they do not respond, and even when I follow up inquiring about it they still do no respond. I have seen this with other companies who off shore their customer service and it has been their demise. I am currently waiting for a response on yet another problem with the SC first quarter taxes that were rejected. Until customer service is improved with knowledgeable humans again be sure you know the payroll tax process yourself before choosing them.

      The login experience with ADP has been extremely frustrating. It appears as though passwords are not being reliably recognized or retained during authentication. Even when entering the correct user ID and password, the system repeatedly returns an “incorrect credentials” error. This forces me to go through the “Need help signing in” flow and reset my password. What’s more concerning is that even after successfully updating the password, attempting to log in again with the new credentials results in the same error. This creates a continuous loop of failed logins and password resets. This issue has occurred multiple times and significantly impacts usability. Overall, this has been a very poor and frustrating experience.

      HORRIBLE BORDERING ON FRAUD. If you want to get a full time job reading dozens of ADP emails, being asked to waste hours of your life watching training videos, fight an impossible to navigate website that can't let you input your address and after paying fees not be able to contribute to your 401K, go with ADP retirement. If you are looking for a simple intuitive web site and responsive customer support to contribute to your 401K--RUN. Don't think more than a second--find yourself another company to manage your 401K. ADP Retirement services are worse than AWFUL!!!

      Very frustrating company to deal with. If you ever need information and can't get it in their endless phone prompts when you call, good luck getting anyone to return your call. Emails go unanswered and voice mails go into a black hole. You may as well be calling the White House and ask to speak to the president. Terrible customer service.

      I am a small business owner and recently attempted to use ADP for payroll services. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely frustrating and concerning. During the initial process, I had multiple scheduled appointments where ADP representatives did not show up. After that, I was informed that ADP had made a “business decision” not to move forward with my account — but no explanation was ever provided. Hoping to resolve the situation, I later had a sales representative reach out to me directly after seeing a review I posted. They initially offered to help, but shortly after, I was told they were instructed not to communicate with me at all.

      At this point, I still have no idea why my business was denied service or why communication was cut off entirely. As a legitimate business owner, being treated this way — without transparency or the opportunity to address any concerns — is both unprofessional and alarming. The lack of explanation, combined with inconsistent communication and being effectively blocked from further contact, raises serious concerns about how ADP handles potential clients behind the scenes. I have since escalated this matter to ADP’s legal department in hopes of receiving answers and resolving the situation. I would strongly encourage other small business owners to proceed with caution and ensure clear communication before relying on ADP for critical business services.

      The do not back consumers on fraudulent charges. I would not use them if you don't have to. I lost money and they advise me to reopen or dispute a claim I have for a fraud charge I have to write a letter to their office in CA and I'm in GA. Obviously this is not as important to them as it is to me or any other consumer in this case.

      DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! In 44 years of filing taxes, I have owed for Federal 2 times. My employer for the last 2 years uses ADP, and I am Single, no dependents, do not itemize and claimed 1 in 2024 (NOT head of household) and owed roughly 1500 for 2024 and now will owe again roughly the same amount for 2025. In reviewing my pay stubs, the federal withholding is all over the place. Sometimes NO withholding, sometimes 3%, sometimes 9%. THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE! I ONLY WISH I WAS WATCHING MORE CAREFULLY!!! Now I'll need to pay back what ADP failed to withhold, plus 7%, interest, and penalties. My FLEX account now shows Single 0 as I changed it out of desperation so I won't owe again for 2026, and not much has changed. What to do?

      I called ADP today because I did not receive my W2s for 2025 when I received an email saying it was delivered but not to my address. I called and spoke to 4 different reps and stayed on the phone for 2.5 hours only to have been disconnected. My problem was not resolved.

      Processing payroll is pretty easy with ADP and their reports are good. However, their tax department is terrible. If a notice is anything other than "pay this amount," they cannot or will not figure it out. Several times, I have figured out what happened for them, and they still do not understand or follow through. They do not read notices or documentation, and they themselves are unreachable. You cannot call them, add notes to an uploaded document, or email them. They also close cases that are not resolved, which means we have to re-upload documents and start all over again.
