I ordered a garmin nuvi 760 for a very good price and ordered it without checking out the company. They stated it was out of stock and would be sent in 3-4 weeks. Then 3-4 weeks later they said it would be another 3-4 weeks. Also it so happened that there was fradulent use of the same credit card shortly after giving them the credit card in new york city (where they are located). I also see that a new website called 86th street video looks eerily similar. What I think they are doing is changing their name but running the same scheme. Don't do business with them if you don't have to. They trap you with low prices they can't deliver on. Pay more at amazon.com you're better off.

David of Glens Falls, NY May 26, 2009

I ordered a Pioneer AVIC-N5, GEX-P920XM and a ND-BC2 for this place without checking them out first. My original order (plus 28.85 shipping) came to 967.83. This was before tax which should have run it up to 1045 and change. I received the phone call & email that everyone has mentioned above and ended up adding the 2gb SD memory card which I don't believe I really need. (Their site prices the 4 card at 149.99.)

My credit card was charged 1360 for my original 1045 order. Shipping (and handling and insurance) was 55.15 instead of the original 28.85 ... and the shipment arrived WITHOUT the XM radio I ordered and paid for. There was a letter saying it was backordered and would arrive in about 2 weeks. I bought the 4 SD card from James (for 149.99) and he was nice enough to tell me he was throwing in a free GPS screen protector. (The item that arrived fits "up to 4.5" screens. My screen is 7".) I had requested an itemized invoice right after placing the order and, of course, never received one. The invoice I received today doesn't give any pricing for each item so I don't know what they cost. All I'm sure of is that I'm paying about 300 more than my original order.

The manager(owner) offered me a 75 discount on my credit card billing plus a 50 store coupon as well as promising me that the backordered item is actually on its way from California.

I closed my credit card account out and am being issued a new card after dealing with this company so his discount is useless because I'm not about to use the new number. As for the store coupon ... they're crazy if they think I'll ever deal with them again!

Camera Giants Inc. had the Canon Powershot SD1200 for about 100 less than any other merchant. I was a little suspicious but ordered on May 13, 2009. They ask for your home and business phone number on the online order form. While commuting home that evening, Camera Giants called both numbers. I returned the call from home. They wanted to "verify" my order. They also wanted me to buy a normal Canon battery for another 99.00. I asked them why, since the Canon battery that comes with the camera is very good. Evidently, they switch the manufacturer's battery with one of less quality that lasts for only 20 minutes. I screamed at them and the guy immediately canceled the order. A cancellation email flashed up in a matter of seconds before I even hung up the phone. It seems like the guy was ready for my unhappy response. Do not do business with these scam artists.

Daniel of Huntington Beach, CA May 6, 2009

I found this company online through a google search for the lowest priced garmin 885t. that had it advertised for 349.00 and that it was in stock. I called to confirm the price and availibilty on sunday since they were open then but not sat. someone answered at the #they list and verified that it was in stock and that the price was correct. I also inquired about what was in the box as listed on the site and that too was confirmed. monday 5/4/09 and today 5/5/09 I received an email from them asking me to call and confirm my address. they then proceeded to try to upsell me (over the phone) a data card I informed them I already had one and didn't need anything else. the gentlmen then asked how was I going to be able to use the device without this card and that it was not a normal sd card i needed a special one. I explained that I already own one of these gps systems and know that's not true and to please send me what I asked for and nothing else. He then said expect it 2 weeks and hung up while I was still talking.

I called back later in the day when I had more time to verify again that my gps was being sent and when I should expect it and how to track it. I was transfered and put on hold 3 times before anyone asked for my order# and then I was told it was on hold. I asked why and that gentlemen informed me that they were out of stock and couldn't tell me when they'd be sending it to me. I informed him that I'd been told twice that it was in stock and I should expect it in 2 weeks. I then asked him not to charge my card until they could tell me when it was in or cancell my order and before I even finished that person said fine as an interruption and hung up before I was finished.

They had no reason to be provked by me to behave in this manner and after being hung up on a total of 3 times by I belive 3 differrent people I suspect fraud and false advertising. i belive i like the product sent to me for the price advertised in a prompt fashion or I may consider a lawsuit just for the principle. maybe consumer affairs can help this company out or at least keep this from happening to others.

Stefanie of Rogers, AR April 22, 2009

I sent in a request to purchase a Garmin Nuvi 265Wt. As in the scenario of the complaint dated 4-13, client advised me that the product did not come with US City map because it was wholesaled and not retail and proceed to tell me I needed to purchase, bringing the price substantially higher than what I can buy local. The website stated the Garmin comes preloaded with US City maps. The rep (ext 213) stated it does not.

I understand their marketing scheme, but they should not try to sell the same product (US maps) twice. This is a scam. He also hurried through as I started asking questions about why I needed it when the advertisement stated the map was included. Their tactic is to create a sense of need and urgency in a short amount of time. They have no intentions of selling the item for the price shown. It is their way of luring buyers.

Laudalina of Jacksonville, FL April 13, 2009

I ordered a Garmin Nuvi 880 from Camera Giants over the Internet for the price of 379.00. A few days after I ordered it I received an email from the company with an order number and instructions to call them for verification and processing. I called them and spoke with Alex at ext 210 who then proceeded to verify my information and then start selling me more items. He wanted me to buy an sd card and when I explained to him that I didn't need it right now because I wasn't going to use the gps for a while. He kept insisting that I needed to buy an sd card to download maps because I would need it. I declined not only because the price was outrageous but because I truly wasn't going to use the gps for the next few months. I know my city very well and I had not need for it.

After much badgering and harassment I asked him to just please send me what I had ordered. He then changed to a different piece of equipment. He then tried to sell me a power charger for 100+ dollars. I told him I didn't need it right because I wasn't going to use it right now. Alex continued to badger me and trying to get me to buy it not taking no for an answer. After many minutes of this I said Just cancel my order Alex commented Ok, have a nice day he hung up and as I was getting up from my computer his cancellation email came through. This all leads me to believe that these people won't sell what they advertise unless you buy a package from them.

I then waited till Monday and called their customer service. A young man came on the phone and I told him who I was and asked what his name was. He mumbled his name and I asked Could you repeat that please? he stated John and his voice sounded quite annoyed. I started explaining that I had put in an order and had called to verify and I proceeded to ask him Is it common practice for your company not to sell what we order unless we buy more stuff? He then stated What is it you want? I have 20 customers on the line. I asked him I'd like to talk to your supervisor. His response was You can't have a nice day and hung up.

At no time was my attitude bad to warrant any of the treatment I got, I do however believe in what I stated above. It's false advertisement announcing a price for a product that they won't sell you unless you buy more options.

Fortunately they did not charge my credit card prior so there was no economic damage. They are scammers, they have false advertisement claiming something costs an amount and you can order it but won't sell to you unless you buy more options. They are rude and it saddens me that these are my own American people. Thank you

This is a bad company. I should have been more dubious when I saw the price in Googles price check. These people are seriously just attempting to rip people off. No two ways about it. I ordered the Canon Vixia HF-100 as well as wide and telephoto lenses. I had a coupon code from their own website that said buy one get one free on all wide and telephoto lenses. Awesome!

Before hitting the submit purchase button, I called to check if the item would ship this week. When the sales person answered, he said What do you need? That's it, no hello, no Hi how can I help you, he may has well just said What? So, I asked him if I could check if my order would ship out this week, He asked me what the product was and I said a canon- The product is not in stock -click Hello?.... He hung up!

So, ok, maybe he was just a rude employee, maybe he did not represent the whole company. So I check the website again, and it said the product was in stock and ships in 1-2 days. So, and this is where another huge mistake of mine, I ordered any way. When I did, I received an email stating that I would have to call in to confirm my order. OK, I thought, maybe I would not get the same sales rep.

When i called in, I also thought it important to find out if my coupon code was actually going to save me the additional 150. After holding for 10 minutes, I got to speak with a sales rep, who I might add sounded suspiciously like the first guy. This time I told the person, I have already placed my order I would like to verify a couple of things though The person asked what I needed, to which I asked about the coupon code, and shipping date. I was then told by the sales guy that the coupon code was only good for professional lenses and would only get me a second lens for 100.

So I went to their website and read word for word what the coupon description read: Buy one get one FREE on ALL wide and telephoto lenses (which by the way was on the page for the lens I wanted) He started trying to sell me on some package that would only cost me an additional 250. i didn't really listen to it, but when he was done I told him. I'm really only interested in what I purchased. So he transfers me to his manager, who as far as I can tell was named, the manager, I asked. This guy starts telling me the same story about the lens coupon, and tries to tell me what he will do is upgrade my package to include an extra charger and battery, as and professional lenses, for a grand total of 1000. WHAT!? I told him, I don't have a 1000, to which he replies I don't think you should buy this camera, you don't buy a lexus if you cant afford gas

So I told him Look, I would just like to get what I ordered, please. He then tells me that they will take off the 150 for the coupon, and my total is 619.99, by my count it was supposed to be 447.99. He says Yes sir, the rest is for insurance I said what insurance cost that? to which he tells me that this is already too much hassle for him, and my order is now canceled. He then hung up on me. I'm in the process of canceling my credit card.

I have to cancel my credit cards for fear that like with so many other people, they will charge me for stuff I did not even order.

I bought a Canon PowerShot SD790IS @ CameraGiantsInc.com. They called a few days later to tell me it came with a 10-minute throw-away battery even though the website says in Kit Content that it comes with a battery and a battery charger. He said I could buy the charger and battery for an extra 50 or so. Then I said politely that I guess I'll just cancel the order. He very quickly and nonchalantly said Okay, I'll take care of that right away... There will be a 50 charge.

Then I said, I'm sorry, did you say there would be a charge to cancel the order? He confirmed and I said, Well, I guess my hands are pretty tied then. He went on to say that the total of 200 was still better that anywhere else. I mentioned that I had just seen the same camera @ Costco for 160 (true story).

Anyhow, these guys are dishonest. I hope they stop doing what they're doing. It will eventually catch up to them. And it sure makes for a crappy job to have to make and answer those calls - glad I don't work for CameraGiantsInc.com. The camera arrived on time and it's an awesome camera. But what a way to have to buy it.

Lost 50 without being informed ahead of time. I lost 50 to get a battery and charger - standard equipment. If I didn't take them up on it, I would have had to pay 50 to cancel the order. Very crooked business.

I was browsing the internet looking for the best deal on a Canon G10 digital camera when I came across Cameragiantsinc.com, who offered the camera for half the price of its msrp. I ordered the camera thinking that I got a great deal, I even purchased overnight shipping because the deal was so good and the shipping was affordable.

I received an email the following morning stating that I had to call to verify my order, so i did without hesitation. I dialed the number and hit extension 213 as instructed in the email and after a few minutes on hold i was connected to a very rude man named Kenny. Kenny told me that the camera that i purchased only came with a 10 minute battery (not mentioned on the website when i purchased it) and that I must buy a 130 high capacity battery from them. I informed Kenny that I already owned the battery, and he began to drill my for information about where I purchased the battery.

After about a minute of his rude badgering he informed me that my camera would ship in three to four weeks, and when I told him that I paid for overnight shipping he informed me that my camera was on back order! I wonder If this would be the case if I was dumb enough to purchase the battery from him! This is clearly a case of bait and switch, and I am sure that this is not the first complaint about this awful internet company! I requested that my order be canceled, and Kenny said yeah sure and hung up. I tried emailing the company and my email was returned, so the email that they provide in the contacts page of the website does not allow contact!
