Even though I had a witness mailing in the original UPS they claim it was not there and the 100 rebate is not forthcoming! Seems to be a pattern here. I will not buy Cannon anymore..

The rebates are small the process is long, I may file a small claims action even though it will cost me to do so.

I purchased the Canon PIXMA IP1800 printer and an LCD monitor on April 13, 2008 with a 50 rebate from Canon. I have sent all the required documents still have not received the rebate. My information doesnt even exist on their rebate tracking system. This is the first time I have failed to receive a rebate and I am extremely disappointed with Canon. After reading the multiple complaints from other customers, it seems that Canon is doing something very unethical and I would like to not only see my rebate but also an explanation as to the cause for this issue.

The only reason I bought the printer was because it was free. I paid 50 for the printer and would get a 50 rebate. I am out 50 plus interest.

Elizabeth of Bala Cynwyd, PA December 8, 2008

I purchased a Canon printer with a 50 rebate on August 31, 2008 from Staples. I completed the appropriate paper work (I have copies) that was supplied by Staples and mailed it by the due date (10/6/08). I checked the materials I submitted 3 times and had my husband check to make sure I had all the required paperwork. I contacted Canon rebates per the instructions on the rebate form after I did not received the refund and they have no record of my claim.

Unfortunately, I did not send it certified mail so Canon will not review the matter. Staples reports that the rebate is from Canon and they are not responsible. I would like to see fraudulent practices such as false rebate practices stopped.

I spent approximately 3 hours of my time--time I did not have--putting the rebate together and then following up on it. In my position as a psychologist, that is 400 in lost wages plus the 50 rebate.

I bought 3 pieces of high end camera equipment from Canon the beginning of 2008. It was approximatly 3000 dollars of goods, a camera, lens and flash. I filled out all the info, sent in all upc codes on the box and did everything exactly as directed. I sent it all in 1 single mailing. I was due around 350 dollars in rebates. It is the end of 2008 and I have never got a penny.

Canon does not honor their word. Do no believe any rebate offers or base any purchases on that. They will not honor it and will send some lame excuse to justify it. They acknowledged getting them but said they did not get the UPC. They were attached to the sheet, if they got the form for the rebate they had to get the UPC, it was taped to it.

Never received rebate for Canon printer I bought at Best Buy. The rebate was from Canon and every attempt to get it failed.

i purchased a pixma ip2600 canon printer and was told it had a 50.00 rebate. i mailed in the rebate along with the proof of purchased and bar code. about 6 weeks went by. i still haden't recieved my 50.00 rebate. i call canon and they said the reason why the rebate was not sent was because i didn't send in the proof of purchaseand bar code

everything was sent the first time. i again sent in this info and they told me it would take another 30 days. i have not recieved my rebate as of 9/16/08. something needs to be done about canon why are they allowed to continue doing business like this.

this situation has really stressed me out to the point where i neaver want to trust in companies like canon again. when you promise something then it should be done. plus i need my 50.00 rebate this is one of the reason i bought the printer because of the rebate

Canon never mail us our rebate!

Lana of Lithonia, GA June 13, 2008

I purchased a Canon Pixma printer soley for the rebate. I sent all of my information in as requsted. I never received my rebate. I contacted them in February stating as such. They said they needed to verify my address and would cancel the rebate card they had sent to me in the mail and would resend another. May arrives and I still haven't received my rebate. I sent another email. Guess what? I received the same response, they needed to verify my address and would cancel the card they placed in the mail and would resend me a new card. It is now June and nothing...

I will NEVER purchase ANYTHING from Canon EVER AGAIN! This is a SCAM and they should be forced to pull their product off the shelf. They pull customers in promising a rebate only to keep your money and give you the run around.

Barbara of Twin Falls, ID May 17, 2008

In February I purchased a Computer bundel that included a Canon PIXMA multi-function printer. I was told by a Gateway sales person that if I purchased this printer I could recoup the price in a rebate. I was not interested in a printer at the time but when told about the rebate I reconsidered and purchased it. I received the printer several days later and was told the computer would follow two days later. After I received my purchases I got the Applications online for a 20 rebate and a 50 rebate. I attached the proper documentation along with the UPC code from the printer box and sent them to the proper addresses. I received the 20 rebate a few weeks later.

The 50 rebate I kept getting denials. First because I did not include the purchase receipt for the computer as well as the printer. I sent that back along with the proper UPC codes from the printer box. Again I was denied because they said I had not sent the proper purchase documentation. I called Gateway and asked for a copy of the receipt for the products I had purchased in case I had the wrong documentation. They sent the same proof of purchase receipt I had already submitted. So I sent the the documentation again along with a third and last UPC code from the box. I was again denied the rebate because the UPC code was not the right one. Now they have all my UPC codes, I have none left.

So I was told to fax the disclaimer and copyright page from the printer manual as well as the documentation and I did so. I received an e-mail telling me I was not qualified once again. I called costomer service at the rebate center and was given a number to the Canon cooperation that sets the terms of the rebate. I was told that the problem was that the printer had been sent on different shipping receipt. It did not matter that I had purchased the printer with the computer on the same day from the same Gateway representative, with the same order number. I am wondering if Gateway is in on this scam since they profit in some way in the deal.

I truly feel victimized and violated by such a well known Corporation such as Canon. I feel insignificant as a consumer. They care more about the money that they save with this scam, than they do about the consumer that spends the money to keep their company in business. I could not afford the printer but was lured into buying one by the Gateway personel with the promise of a rebate. Is Gateway a part of this scam? I will never buy a Canon product and neither will my friends.

Judy of Tewksbury, MA May 5, 2008

I purchased a Canon PIXMA IP3500 Photo Printer for my business from Staples. There was a combined 50 rebate, for which Staples provided all required information for submission. We followed the instructions to the letter. Six weeks later we were advised that we had been denied.

After much emailing to Canon we were told we were denied because we didn't submit a Secondary Proof of Purchase. More emailing ensued before we were finally advised that the Secondary Proof is in bright red, inside the box, on an end flap. How on earth would customers know to look for that? Incredibly enough, the box was still in our attic. On inspection, we found it contained not only a red Secondary Proof, but a purple Third Proof as well. Is this ignorance on Canon's part or a well-crafted effort to avoid paying out the rebates that caused you to buy the product in the first place? Not a nice way to do business!
