Tanya of Fairview, NJ April 7, 2009

On April 5, 2009 I was sold a cell phone (LG SHINE). I paid 170.00 dollars. Tony told me that the cell phone had garantee for a year. After a purchased the phone, i called the LG company. I gave then the model number and they told me that i was sold an international phone not met for the US. So i an not covered unless i send the phone to europe and call long distance. The next day i went back to the dealer. An older man took care of me, Tony said he was busy. I told him what the problem was he said this is not true, that this his business and he knows what he does.

So i call LG company and put then on speaker so the owner can hear. After he heard that the phone was for international use and not ment for US he got very rude and loud. He did not let me talk. He said he does not give money back, the sign is on the wall and if i can read it thats not his problem. If offer other cell phone that were from t-mobile but because i have been a member of t-mobile i knew the value was alot less than what i paid. On top of all this all the instructions are german. He said to get on line and figure it out. I got on line but they offer no help because its an international phone so no features, or instruction are give to this model.

I purchased this phone back in September. By January, the usb charge port was not working. I do not have a warranty so I just threw my money away.

I have had 2 LG VX8350 cell phones that the right hinge has broken on in the past several months - several other people that I know have had the hing break also. If you google the phone model - you will find complaint after complaint - but for some reason LG won't make the phone good - you have to file it on your insurance and pay a 50.00 deductible. I could understand this if it didn't seem to be an on-going problem with this model phone - LG needs to do a recall of the phone or at the very least fix the phones that the right hinge breaks on for free.

I purchased two Rumors from a Sprint dealer in March 2008. Almost immediately one of the phones would power off by itself. At first I assumed that it we were mistakenly shutting it off ourselves. But the problem got progressively worse to a point that it would go into a power cycle mode and could not be shut off or on for hours on end. About the same time the second phone began shutting itself down.

After a quick Google search I was able to find that this is known problem with the LG Rumor, especially if purchased through March of 2008. Supposedly, the phone has a one year warranty. However, I just got off the phone with LG and they will only repair it if I pay a fee of 95.

A known defect in their phone and they want me to pay for it. How is that a warranty?

My son's LG Fusic cell phone has broken 3 times within one year. Reliability is terrible. Every time he has to send it in he loses all his contacts, etc. Huge inconvenience. The last time we got it back, it broke within a week. Customer service refused to fix it, claiming it was not under warranty due to main board damage. I don't know why that's the case, all I know is it's broken 3 times in the last year, and they refuse to stand behind their product. They are a terrible company to do business with.

All his contacts are destroyed every time he has to send the phone in. Much time and effort wasted.
