Dell Talks Back

We are awash in complaints about unpaid Dell rebates. The complaints below represent just a tiny fraction of the megabytes of complaints we've received over the last few years. There is no sign the situation is improving, so buyer beware!

Anyone with a similar complaint should do the following:

  • File a complaint with us; complaints to our site often lead to class action lawsuits which penalize offenders and get at least some recompense for consumers.
  • File a copy of the complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, which prosecutes violators;
  • File a copy of the complaint with your state's attorney general. You can find the address in our Resource Directory.

Dell advertised a computer with a rebate in December of 2003, which I purchased. When I went to apply for my rebate, I was told that if it doesn't say 'rebate' on your packing slip, you do not get one. My guess is that NONE of their packing slips say 'rebate'. I demand my rebate!

Bad company management. No customer service.

I purchased a loaded Inspiron 8200 laptop which had a 400.00 rebate. I received the laptop and sent in the rebate form, but never received my rebate. I tried contactoing Dell, and finally sent a certified letter to the same address as the rebate form had; it was returned.

they were supposed to send me a 25.00 staples gift card for buying a printer. 4 months later, after numerous calls, they said they sent it to my email. if i didn't get it there is no way for them to send it again so i am out of luck. typical rebate scam. you think a big company like dell could afford the 25 bucks. i dont need it but it just [upsets] me..

On 5/23/2008 I ordered two laptops from Dell and I was told that if I open and use Dell Preferred Account then I will receive a 100.00 dell dollars from Dell. After contacting Dell regarding this dell dollars I was told that there was no note about them. One of the supervisors said that he supposes that Trevan Rose forgot to write in the note. I guess that is how they work at Dell. Pure Fraud!

I was out of 100 dell dollars promised to me.

I bought a laptop for my daughter for 2007 christmas and the sales person told that I would get a 50.00 certificates for my next dell product purchase and she told me to wait a few months. I waited alittle longer than a few months and called about it, they asked way did I wait so long and what certificate? I never received or was never notified,is their any thing that can be done about this. Thank You
