While I was shopping at Best Buy I noticed What I thought was a really good deal. Toshiba was offering 5 free HD DVD on a rebate offer if you bought one of their HD DVD players. I bought one and went through the proceedures required to obtain my rebate.

I was told 8-10 weeks before they would send out my DVD's. After 10 weeks I called and they said they tried to mail them but they were sent back as undeliverable. I had moved since then but they had my new address before I had moved and no DVD's where ever tried to be delivered.

It's been 21 weeks now and every time I call them they just give me the run around.

I found out after I bought the DVD player that Toshiba discontinued making HD DVD and now I stuck with the few HD I purchased when I bought the DVD player.

I purchased a Toshiba Satellite A215-S4757 laptop in August of 07. The purchase promised a $150 rebate in 60 days. GREAT! 70 days later - no rebate. 80 days later - still no rebate. I called and got their "permission" to resubmit my rebate request. 60 days from then, my patience had evaporated. After spending over an hour being transferred from one dept. to another, I finally get a girl who tells me that there was no record of any submission of anything to them and that it was too late for me to receive the 5 dvds they thought I was trying to get. Their customer service is the pits! I will never buy or recommend that anyone buy anything that has Toshiba's name on it. Their service is terrible! BTW, I'm still waiting for my $150.

There has been serious vibration since first 8,000 miles on rough road at highway speeds, sometimes on smooth road, and front end vibration on heavy braking. Had vehicle in number of times for correction. Dealer has made efforts to correct and for a short time the vehicle will run smoother, but then after a thousand miles or so the vibration begins to increase again. This occurs even after tire pressure check and tires are relatively new. 2003 Toyota Avalon four door sedan

I have had my 2000 Toyota 4RUNNER for 8 years and never had a problem until my engine blown to an oil problem. My oil light did not give any indication that there was a problem. I was just made aware of the law suit regarding this issue and would like assistance.

I purchased a Toshiba computer on 05/09/06 in the amount of 924.60 with the understanding that I would receive a $150.00 rebate. I sent all the required information and received a denial letter approximately 12 weeks later stating I had not sent the UPC from the box which I had. They told me to take pictures of the bottom of the computer. I did this and resent the denial letter with the requested pictures. I have not heard from them since. I have my original receipt for the purchase of the computer. When I tried to look up the status of my rebate online they required a reference number which I do not have.

Time spent taking pictures and locating receipts. I am out the $150.00 rebate I was under the impression I would receive. As I was a student at the time the amount ended up going over my allowance amount for a computer and had to come out of my pocket.

My Toyota Highlander has a problem with sludge build up. At first I thought it was just my vehicle, but with much research I found out it is a problem with the design of the engine. New car buyers should be aware of this problem with Toyota engines a possible chose another automoble manufacture

I was trying to complete my rebate online, per the receipt information, but I couldn't get the site so I called the number.

A lady took my name and told me to try Toshiba.com. It doesn't have a rebate link. She said mail it in and keep a copy. What is the point of having it on the receipt if even the customer service for Toshiba doesn't even know where to tell a customer to go for their rebate.

I had a $50 rebate coming back from Toshiba on a Notebook I purchased at Frye's Electronics. I sent in the UPC from the box along with the rebate form. After a few weeks I received a letter that said that what I sent them said thsat the UPC that was submitted was not from a valid Toshiba Satellite Notebook. So I resent the rest of the codes (original) off the notebook box and resubmit by the date that they requested. I never heard back from them again. I had sent them everything off of the box that was coded, so I'm perplexed as to why I never received my rebate from them. I have all supported documentation of each submission to them to get my refund.

I bought a Toshiba laptop (Dec 2005) because of the offers they made at the end of the year. This included FREE (after rebate) carrying case and Netgear WGR614 router. I didn't need a router but the sales man, Paul Sullivan, kept repeating that it was FREE so I relented. I said that rebate offers were designed to be difficult so that customers could not collect and he assured me that Toshiba was not like that and if I had any trouble at all to call the their rebate number.

The first trouble was the receipt, but the shipping date which was PAST the time of the FREE offers. Paul did not put the correct date on when I ordered the product and dropped off the face of the earth—no email response nor telephone answer—just a recording that he was on leave. I had to take a lot of time to get the receipt corrected. Then Matt Nicolson, the supervisor for customer service, said to call him if I had any further trouble and that I would be getting my rebates within 6 weeks. He again assured me that Toshiba does not engage in the well-known tactics of making rebate collection a nightmare for the customer. I received one rebate, but not the Netgear rebate.

I have called Matt Nicolson at least 25 times (not an exaggeration) and he has not returned one single call. I called the rebate number given to me by Todd on March 2nd –made the call on March 17, and talked to Ryan who said Toshiba doesn’t honor nor track the Netgear rebates. Now mind you, TOSHIBA solicited the sale from me on the promise of a “free” router—NOT Netgear. I called the number he gave me 1 00 305 7301, which turned out to be bogus! I looked up the Netgear number and called it 888 2149109 and spoke to Sabastian. He said they had no record of having received anything from me… since I had the track and confirm in my hand, I knew that Netgear received my rebate information at 12:28 pm on Jan 24, 2006 exactly 7 days after I mailed it.

I told Sabastian what I thought of the low-life tactics and the dishonesty exhibited by them and he gave me a new address to send all the information to again. It is well-known and well-documented that rebate companies deliberately “lose,” misplace and pretend not to receive all the required information in order to make more money by not having to pay the customer. I knew this. What I had trouble believing was that Toshiba would engage and collude with such despicable business practices.

Joyce of Clinton WA (01/12/06)
I purchased a Toshiba laptop, part of the deal was a Free after rebate laptop case, Free after rebate Epson printer, Free after rebate wireless router. I paid for these items expecting a rebate eventually. I've sent all correct documentation kept copies of various numbers etc. I got 3 letters back saying I did not send a serial number. I tried to submit my rebate info. on the Toshiba website but was not successful, I called the independent rebate website and they said they needed the bar code number (which they have from my first submission) the rebate center said to call toshiba.

I called Toshiba and they said they couldn't help me , that rebate center is responsible for all rebate info and Toshiba is not resoponsible for any rebate difficulties and cannot resolve any problems. It seems an impossible situation since Toshiba is denying all responsibility for rebates. Toshiba even told me I can't return the items that I paid for expecting a rebate.

I paid $250 for items expecting to have my funds rebated. I've lost $250 and a great deal of time trying to obtain some kind of settlement. I've sent appropriate documentation and now I no longer have the orig. serial number box cut out but I did keep a copy. Toshiba tells me they have no responsibility to help me get my rebates, that it is all in the hands of a separate and independent rebate company. The rebate company tells me to call Toshiba. I've simply lost $250 with no recourse it seems.

Mario of Denville NJ (08/01/05)
I bought two laptop computers that had rebates. All the paperwork was filled out and sent in. I did receive one rebate but not the other which I was entitled to. I have called several times. On one occasion they told me to go on their web site and I could get the copy of the rebate for the computer that I had bought so that I could resend the paperwork with the copy of my receipt. I could find nothing for that rebate. On my most recent call they could not find my information and that I probably sent it to another rebate center. I can't believe in this day and age that a company like Toshiba can't find what is going on between their rebate facilities. The number I called is on their web site. Thanks for any help that you can give if any. They have lost a customer.

Patricia of Redlands CA (9/17/04):
I sent Toshiba all the required original items, including serial number from the box, UPC, rebate form, and receipt for their rebate offer #M0008650. I even made copies of everything. All I received back was a letter saying I did not send the original serial number from the box and UPC. They will not pay. I can not send the original because I sent it to them already. It is not as simple as getting a new receipt. I can not send what they have.

I emailed them with no reply. They told me they might process the rebate if I sent a picture of the bottom of the computer. I gave this computer to a person as a gift. They do not have a camera. They are in another state, and this is a rediculous request. I have copies of what I sent. I have a copy of the check sent to me for a store rebate for the same computer. I can send them all that. They know I purchased the computer. They just don't want to pay.

Brad of Centennial CO (3/29/04):
I recently bought Toshiba's Satellite P25-S609 for $3000 on 12-28-03. They offered their rebate program, which as everyone describes was painful. We sent in what the directions stated they needed and eight weeks later we get a letter that denies payment because we did not provide proof of purchase. I called Toshiba and stated that we did supply this information and was told that I needed to make a copy of the bottom of the computer in order to prove the purchase was actually made.

First of all the directions did not state this in any of the documentation and secondly I would not have known this if I didn't call the support center. This also happened with my Linksys router. This is nothing more than delay tactics not to honor the payment that was offered. I will not buy another Toshiba product as a result of this experience and would not recommend them as a company. If this is the type of business practices they offer it doesn't say much about the company.
