this bank is a scam. i applied for a secured credit card on june 1, 2009 and was informed via the internet that i would either receive a notice or the card in 5-7 business days and a approval/denial email would be available immediately. when i called and spoke to a csr, i was told that it takes 30 days to recieve the card.

i then decided to cancel and was told it would take 30 days for the cancel request to be processed. none of this info was given at the beginning. this money was needed to pay bills which were put on hold until the card arrived.

Cynthia of San Angelo, TX June 6, 2009

To begin with this credit card is the only one that does not have a toll free number. It cost you a long distance fee to call them. On may 23 I had my wallet stolen in which I called all credit card companies and cancelled them to include applied card. Because my banking information was compromized the bank issued me a new account number, everything would automatically transer over for the first 60 days from the old # to the new # to which is key because I had already set up auto drafts for my credit card payments. Every CC auto draft came out except for Applied. I looked online and I had been accessed a 30.0 return check fee, 35.00 late fee, which cause it to have an over limit of 35.00 but they also charged me the 6.95 to make a payment on-line. My bank shows no attempt from Applied to process my payment. (got the letter from the bank) I call the soooo very rude Customer Service and they will not accept disputes over the phone Everything has to be in writting. No one will make this right!!!

Applied Bank has been calling for 4 years for someone that has not had this number. I finally got a number out of one those idiots. I told them for the past 4 years to remove my number. So today after i cursed them out for the hundredth time. I call them back. They claim it takes 48 hours to remove the number. Wrong because they are still calling. I will report them for harassment at the BBB and other authorities. Enough is enough. I do know that they are outsource to India. They use American Names (saw it on a Documentary last month)

Every day, 9 - 12 times a day this place calls and says Miss S---? - Hello, Miss S---? then hangs up - there is no such person here, jusy two people who are not in the best of health

I had opened a secured credit card through Applied Bank in December of 2008 and provided the necessary 300 for the available credit. I never used the card. Applied Bank had direct access to my personal bank checking account information and in February of 2009, my checking account was compromised with fraudulent charges. I felt that it was compromised through Applied Bank for numerous reasons.

I immediately cancelled my Applied Bank credit card and had to cancel my checking account and re-open another checking account with my bank. I have left several messages for Applied Bank to reimburse me the 300. I finally spoke with a very rude representative last week and she told me that they needed my new checking account information to reimburse me. I told her that I refused to give Applied Bank that information and requested that they mail me a money order or certified check. I spoke again to Applied Bank this morning and I was told that they would not be able to reimburse me without my new checking account information. I told her that I needed this in writing in a letter.

I am so frustrated! They are treating ME like I am the criminal, when they are stealing from me!

Donald of Oroville, CA May 22, 2009

Repeated robo calls to my phone which is on the national Do-Not-Call registry. I have never done business with, nor contacted this company. The message states it is about my account with Applied Bank, which is a falsehood, as I have no account with them.

Steve of Weston, FL May 13, 2009

I made a payment on 4/16/09 to bring my account below the credit limit. Received an email on 5/13/09 telling me my account was past due with the usual fees. However I have not even received a statement for May yet. My billing cycle closes on the 9th of every month so how can I be past due four days later ?

BRYAN of JACKSONVILLE, FL May 7, 2009

I have applied for a secured credit card and had 1,000 withdrawn from my account to deposit with applied bank. It has been over 5 weeks since they received that deposit and I still have not been issued the card. I am certain they used that money and invested it even if for a small gain. I attempted to call them numerous times and either get a answering machine or someone who speaks broken English. I still do not have the card and am not sure how to get my money back.

James of Elmira Heights, NY May 6, 2009

Here is the long and short of it. I have never been late with Applied Bank. I was sick for about 9 weeks starting in February and I called Applied Bank to let them know I would be late by about 3 days. They refused extra time. I checked my account online and found, before my payment was due, they applied their fees, that took me over my limit, then they charged me an over the limit fee. I called them to pay the bill and asked to have those charges removed. Seven calls and all I got was the Philippines. They refused to transfer me to the US. Finally I called a different number, talked to a woman who said they would NOT remove the charges as a courtesy and I stated…. That before any money was to sent, I wanted a letter from them stating their refusal, a copy of my final bill as I wanted to close my account and DO NOT call me regarding this account. I wanted everything in writing.

I have received over 100 calls from 866-873-8592, 223-987-5200, in which area code 223 does not exist and from a Caller Unknown all of which are from Applied Bank. This is Harassing and violates title 15 subsection 1692d.

Sondra of Grand Island, Ne., NE April 24, 2009

after seeing about 20 calls a day on our calling ID I desided to answer this unknown call!!! "caller unknown". it was NARS collection agency they said, I supposely had an "applied Bank card" which they said was Cross country bank from 2001 that I owed 1,600 dollars too! I said I never had such a card, there repley was, yes you did and we want to know how you plan on resolving this citution? again I said no I did not have this credit card that you are speaking off, his repley to that was: we have your social sercurity number, name, address, so this is your debt. So I asked for proof, a statement from the credit card company, And what Items where charged on the card, Address of the credit card company, and phone number, He said he could not give me ANY OF THAT IMFORMATION!!!! My god if I owe like you say 1,600 then I have a right to that imformation. plus this account was opened he said in 2001 and closed in 2002! this is 2009, so is thier any statue of limitions? and calling at 6:am and as late as 12:pm, is thier no law for that? and to this date I have never ever gotten a statement from Cross Country or Applied Bank! who's protecting us the consumer from these credit card companys and collections agency's??? what can we do?
