Aspire Visa
FTC Sues CompuCredit
Aspire Visa to Pay $11 Million to New York Consumers
Consumer Complaints

Manuel of Las Vegas NV (11/30/08)
As a card member since 2005, all my monthly payments were done on time, and I even reduced my balance more than half, because I was in the process of buying a house, and I needed my FICO to go up just 10 more points.I was using this card, as well as the my other ones, with responsabily,

however, about 2 days ago, Aspire Visa Card sent me a letter, letting me know that my account was closed.Inmediatly after, I called the phone # they provided in the letter, but they told me exactly the same, like if they were just reading the letter over the phone to me. Later I realized, they are doing the same to a lot of people nationwide. Is there something we can do to solve this serious matter?.

I'm buying a house rigth now, and after a lot of hard work to pay my credit cards off, or lower the balance, in order to get the highest possible FICO score, I'm affraid that my credit score would go down because of this account closing without reason, and as a result, I won't be able to finally get the house. I don't think this is fair after all we had to work in order to save money for our house. Me, as the rest of consumers in the same situation, need both an answer and a solution.

I've been a credit card holder with this company for years paying them a hundred dollars a month of which they've applied forty toward the ballanc and took the rest for interest.Today i got a letter telling me they were cancelling my card. And that i still owed them and had to pay them. It's understandable i guess and underhanded.Due to the fact they have charged me so much in interest charges that it made it impossible to get a head on my ballance.

I have had this credit card for about 3 years, then clear out of the blue I recieve a letter they are canceling my account. Never been late paying gave no explanation and demanded I pay in full. When asked due to their need to close my account the least the can due is waive the interest on the balance owed. I was told no, no, you will pay in full or you will be charged all fees. 24% or higher. This credit card was a back up for emergencies Now all I have is a big bill to pay.

I was about to notify them I was layed off and to use my security plus atvantage. Now I am forced to pay with no restitution.

Upset of Park City, IL November 29, 2008

Upset of Park City IL (11/29/08)
I have been with Aspire Visa for about 5 years. I have never been late on a payment and my credit limit has been increased every year since I have had the card because of my payment history. Recently I got laid off and had one late payment. I went online to make my payment and saw that my credit limit says 0.00. So I called their customer service department and they told me that because I had one late payment that they closed my account. They said that this is a new rule that went into effect in July of 08. I informed them that I was never notified of this change. They also was not very helpful with thte information that they gave me and tried to get off the phone several times without giving me the information that I requested.

I am in the process of looking for a home and the credit card that raise my credit score has now dropped my credit score because they closed my account. If this really affects my credit I am going to be highly upset.
