Aspire Visa to Pay $11 Million to New York Consumers
Consumer Complaints

April of Roxboro, NC November 26, 2008

After having an Aspire Visa for 8 years and paying on time every month, I received a letter today, November 26, that my account was being terminated. What in the world? How does this affect my credit? I'm trying to get a house and this is going to really tick me off if this stops it.

My credit report is being ruined by Aspire with closed account. I have a Aspire account which originally started as Providian Visa. I have paid my account without failure monthly but recently had over the limits which were paid on time. I received a termination of card program letter as others without any chance of paying balance in full or closing the account as most creditors offer. Is this action legal for consumers who are paying and the company decides to terminate business? How can I protect my FICO? Help please, anyone

My already teetering FICO score will be reduced making it hard to reduce my 9,000.00 balance which is like a car note monthly.

The 21st of November I got a letter from Aspire Visa informing me my card has been terminated..I have had this credit card for awhile now, having it to build up my credit I have always paid on time and never been late with payments and have even paid the card off at times. When i received this letter, there was never an answer or any information telling why my card was terminated. I called the the number they gave me to get the reasons why and when i did, the lady I was talking to and askin why this had happened told me that it wasn't just me that got terminated but alot of others and whe I asked her why, she just told me thats just the way it is in a very smug way, and I still never got an answer why my card was terminated. Because of this I am worried about my credit rating in the future.

The damage hasn't hit me as of yet, but I am worried about my credit rating and future accounts I might try to get, either it be getting another credit card, a loan, buying a car, or getting a house.

credit card program got a letter nov.22 2008 i can no longer use the card. no explation was given just like all the rest of consumers. they said it was nothing on my part. if i had have known this my payment would have been asmaller amount i could have use the cash to pay with instead.

this letter was mailed 2 days before black friday. i was going to use it for shopping. the person who i spoke to could not understand or hear very well..i am not from china.

I received a letter indicating that my account with Aspire Visa was terminated. I have never had a late payment in the many years I did business with Aspire. When I called the 800# they told me that they were discontinuing the program. Since this will be closed by them, this will affect my credit rating, which I have been building since the loss of my business in 2000. I am very concerned about the consequences of this and after reading other complaints online about Aspire Visa, I think there should be a review of the consumer complaints and how this affects our credit.
