I had purchased the credit card insurance when I applied for the card but they did not pay when I was undergoing cancer treatment in 2007.

James of Birmingham, AL July 19, 2009

Over the past 5 months, I have gone over my Limit by 5.00 the first time and this month 2.00. Now I pay this bill way down each month, I use for travel and when expense checks come in the card gets paid. The report me to Credit agencies for being " over the limit" to the Credit Agenciy it looks like I am a killer and this cost me dearly on my credit reports. So I call and ask if there is something they will do to get this off! This person tells me there is no way, according to the credit bill of rights, the credit card company can remove this - you are talking about a 5.00 and a 2.00 overage that is paid down in less than a week - this is crazy and it cost me much more than that! The people at Capital One do not at all care about customer service

Maria of Lake Hopatcong, NJ July 19, 2009

I would like to file a class action suit against Capital One for its fraudulant business practices. The cause of action of the lawsuit would be the New Jersey Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, debt collector harassment.I have attempted to receive payment protection since I lost my job and they refuse to give it to me. They have increased my interest, and maintained that I went over my limit when I haven't used the card in ten years! They never stop calling and harassing me. I cannot afford the numerous late fees even when I pay on time and fraudulant over-the-limit fees. It is a nightmare. No matter how much I pay, they claim I owe more each month!

Mark of Collingswood, NJ July 17, 2009

I am writing this e-mail with the hope that someone will help me to resolve unauthorized charges on my credit card. I was issued credit and then recharged again. The two disputes I have are with the same company, however, under two different company names. I had to cancel my credit card and submit documentation in regard to this matter. I did everything that I was supposed to do and I am still having some issues.

I have spent hours on the phone, and with some less than helpful Capital One representatives, each time I believed the issue had finally been resolved. This seems to never go away. I have always had a favorable opinion of your company, but I have to admit that I am less than satisfied, recently. I hope that this e-mail falls into the right hands and that this can be resolved. I would suggest that you listen to the most recent conversation I had with one of your representatives (Kerry, as well as, his immediate supervisor.) and maybe, you will appreciate the level of frustration that I have experienced. I really appreciate anything that can be done.

vince of margate city, NJ July 17, 2009

The above is the number they have been calling me from. Calling me a few times a day. They are looking for Thomas, I am Vincent. He does not live with me, he lives 40 miles away and is a 44 year old man..I am not responsible for his late payments. I asked them to stop calling me, and they refused. My wife and I now have to check our calls before answering so as not to be horrassed and annoyed by these people. I have NO BILLS and do not enjoy this treatment. thanks for your help

Shanna of Tropic, UT July 17, 2009

Capital One is unfairly raising interest rates before the new law takes affect in Feb of 2010. I have had their credit card for several years and never had rate increase until May of 2009. Something needs to be done to credit card companies raising interest for no reason at all.

Lee of Mesa, AZ July 16, 2009

We got a letter in June 2009 stating that Capitol One was raising the Interest rate to 29.9% on the unpaid balance do to tough economic times. My husband and I are outraged and are going to cancel our account ASAP! There should be a class action suit against this company!!! We have also been charged late or overage fees. Before Memorial Day 2009, President Obama passed a law sign into law a bill that prevents credit card companies from raising interest rates arbitrarily and limits the fees they can charge. I feel it is our duty to stand up for ourselves against this Company and write our Congressmen and the President. It is unfair how Capital One is treating their customers!!!! Companies like this is one of the factors of the recession and current Economic woes. We MUST NOT lay down and roll over!! We must fight and take our business somewhere else!

Daniel of Williamsville, NY July 16, 2009

The credit card company charged me a late fee-understandable, I was a day late but that put me over my limit. I didn't realize it then because my minimum amount due was NOT CHANGED! Now this month they charged me another over the limit and if I would pay that Mimimum due, I would STILL BE OVER THE LIMIT!!! HOw is this okay?

JOHN of MARYSVILLE, CA July 15, 2009

I was looking at my account on-line as I don't recieve paper statements and noticed a 45 transaction placed on my card on the 4th of july and posted on the 7th of July 2009 for credit card protection. I did not authorize nor have I ever authorized since being with Capitalone for 7 years. The problem I have is if I had not noticed this transaction my payment was due on the 17th of July which I would not have made because I have a zero balance on the account. This would have lead to a late payment fee and an immediate interest increase on my card.

I contacted 4 different people from Costa Rica, India, Cananda, and one person wouldn't even tell me where she was located and my guess is she didn't know where she was. All told me they had a voce authorization which I knew was a lie so I asked to hear it and they all told me they didn't have access to it but they kept transfering me to someone else. I was finnaly transfered to the Dept where you dispute the charge where I was told I would have to write a letter disputing the charge Capital One had authorized. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

After 1hr and 48min on the phone fighting and arguing with these idiots I was finally connected to a manager in Canada who fixed the problem in 35 seconds. Am I through...no way. I am contacting the Dept of California Consumer Affairs and am calling my Congressman and may even contact the White House for all the good it may due me, and I am definatley contacting the CEO or the Board of Directors of Capitalone if for any other reason to see if they are as stupid as who works for them. This may or may not gleen anything however I guarantee they will be sick and tired of hearing from me untill I reciecve the answer I demand as a customer. These credit card companies are out of control and I for one am sick and tired of dealing with their fraudulant crap.

Alan of Louisville, KY July 15, 2009

Way to much of a jump in APR, of course no help when talking to customer service.

Big joke, cancelling A.S.A.P., company has shown major financial loss of course
