Anna of Poulsbo, WA April 5, 2006

I have power-of-attorney of my aging father's account. Last month, I managed to get the membership fee waived after 30 minutes on the phone. This month, suprise, the fee was still on the account, plus a late charge of 29 and intereste that had accrued since last month.  So again I had to dispute the membership and the late payment fee.

Then I made a request to have my name added to the mailing address, which they refused to do.

The manager I dealt with was rude and demeaning to me. I finally got very frustrated with the whole situation and cancelled the account. This is one headache I won't have any longer.

TERRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL customer service. There are other credit cards out there with better service!!!

I was a happy credit card user even with the outrageous interest rates, I'm living in Mexico, so I have no social security number, when I first get the promotional about the credit card I filled up and sent it, a person called me at that time and said it was not a problem so they gave me a credit for 300 USD which I received, my credit was increased couple of times so I reached the limit of 2500 USD which worked just fine for me since I do some business using the credit card, I use to pay on time with no problems at all, so this year I get the advise that my credit card was promoted to a platinum credit card, nice uhh?

I get the card and called to activate it, the system asked me for a SSN so as always I did wait on the line so I have a person to activated for me, the lady asked me for a SSN I told her I do not have one so she transfer me to "an specialist" who asked me all sort of questions to verify my identity, you know birthdate, etc. After almost 5 minutes of questions and of course answers she decided to close my account because I do not have a SSN... WHAT? She said she sorry about that, I told her I have never had a problem with that, I mean it was the way the card was issued years ago and I'm in good standing through the years so what is the problem?

She argued tha is a "new policy" of course I was not told about it and never received a written notice about it. I decided to stay calm and wait for the next statement, I have it just in my hand it says "Your request to close your account has been received. Your account will be closed when reaches a 0 balance. Until then you will continue to receive statements and must continue to make payments. All terms and conditions of the account will apply while balance remains."

I recently applied for a car loan and after being turned down numerous times I sent in for a copy of my credit report.  I found out that Capital One bank was on my report as an outstanding debt since 1999. I disputed these charges with Expierian, but they said Capital One said the debit was legitimate.

I have never dealt with Capital One bank in my life.

As a Capital One customer for over 5 years I’m very disappointed and upset with their customer service. I applied for an auto loan with Capital One on February 22, 2006 and was given an outrageous interest rate of 13.5%.

I feel that Capital One forgets about its old clients and has great new offers only for the new customer. After this experience I feel that I may have to cancel all four of my credit cards with Capital One.

My credit cards with capital one also have ridiculous rates. Maybe we can work on Capital One lowering the interest rate on some of my credit cards and the auto loan.
