Alan of Leeton, MO March 25, 2009
Alan of Leeton MO (03/25/09) Aug of 2008, recd a email for applying for a Visa Card, was frustrated with my current credit cards late pmt errors and decided to appy on line. Sent an email at the time declining the acceptance, did not want it! Within a week recd a card with stmt for owing 300 on a 500 credit limt card. I called advised I did not want card, disputed the 300 billing for nothing! Very rude people, but after returning the demeanour, lady advised the would cancel.
Just rec'd a Collection Notice from a First National Collection Bureau, Called them for location of Cross Country Bank, person to alk to on the matter, still unsuccesful in address , name at Cross Country, but rec'd a Corp office, but appears to be the same people I was talking to. I ADVISED ALL THAT I WAS REPORTING THIS ACTIVITY TO MISSOURI ATTY GENERAL OFFICE and fully intend to. I plan on filing a small claim action also here in Missouri.
Let me explain, I am a retired investigator 32 years, force retirement 1 year ago, with terminal cancer! I can deal with this situation! But will make sure I get the right people in that action. I know how to find them! Not after the little rude person on the phone! Just will be after the [one] that runs it, and profits from it! Now reading all the complaints on this site just invigorates me in this endevor!
Have not determined yet, haven;t looked on credit report! I have all the money and asetts I need , don;t need their card! Kashif of Skokie, IL March 6, 2009
Kashif of Skokie IL (03/06/09) I opened a secured credit card in 2004 to make my the bad credit better. I deposited 200 into their savings account and after a week I was charged 108 in annual and other bogus fees. I asked them about the terms and conditions did not explain about the 99 annual fees plus some other bogus fees. They said the terms and conditions change over night and now you have to pay the 108. I was furious so I didn't pay.
After two months they charged off my account and reported negative inquiry on my credit which made my credit worst than ever. They collected the 108 from my initial deposit and sent back the 92 after four months. Since then I've been suffering on my credit. They are the worst curse in my life. I call them, fax them, send written requests to remove the charged off but they are so rude that even after sending them four goodwill letters and eighteen calls, they still don't want to remove the negative comments off my credit.
I can't refinance, nor get a loan. I am totally stressed about my bad credit. These Applied Bank people are crooks, fraud. Never ever deal with them. If I could do something, I will shut them down forever. Dave of Herriman, UT March 5, 2009
Dave of Herriman UT (03/05/09) my story is pretty much the same as others that are posted. you all need to start filing complaints with the state of delaware. there have been several state lawsuits already. this bank needs to be shut down.

negative credit reporting Enid of Syracuse, NY February 24, 2009
Enid of Syracuse NY (02/24/09) I opened an account with Cross Country Bank after filing for bankruptcy in 1996. I kept the account current and below the credit limit. In 1997 I moved back to Syracuse, NY from Austin, TX. at the time I had no job and no income. I immediately stopped using the card, the balance was below the max. Shortly after I started getting late fees, overlimit fees and harrassing phone calls. The balance balloned up to over 2,000.00.
Fast forward to 2009 in an effort to settle the account so that I can make the attempt to buy a house, I called the company number that was on my credit report. Assuming that I was talking to Applied Bank I mailed the amount that I needed to settle the account to Applied Bank. I received a phone call from FNCB on 2/23/09 that I sent the payment to the wrong place. By sending the funds to Applied Bank it made the settlement agreement null and void. I would also have to give them 600.00 to be done with them as well. At the time I didn't have the papers with me to even know what she was talking about.
The first time I had heard of FNCB was on the evening of the 23rd. When I made the initial phone call I assumed that I was talking to applied bank. I put in my notes that I would call back to set up arrangements for payment. After being told that in order for me to use my debit card I would have to pay 40.00, or 5.00 to use my checking account. I decided to mail my payment to avoid paying extra fees.
As a result of this account reflecting so negatively on my credit report has resulted in my disability to buy a house. My credit score is so low that any mortgage company does not even look at me for a pre-qualifaction.
