Damein of Saginaw MI (08/22/08)
I recently recieved a phone call from a collection agency saying I owed First National Bank Of Marin 638.00 for a credit card I never had. Asked them what credit card was it and do they have any more information besides I just owed them money and how they got my phone number. He just said The computer dialed it up which doesn't make any sense to me. The mailing address wasn't even mine and I have never even lived there before. I now have to pay to check my credit report. I refuse to pay some bank I never delt with money I do not owe.

I keep receiving collection letters from this Asset Acceptance LLC company claiming I owe over 600.00 on a credit card through First Bank of Marin. I have no idea who this bank is and I never opened an account. I tried to explain this to the collection agency but they said I had to file a police report for identity theft.

I am tired of receiving these letters and I am not about to file a police report for a so called bill from almost 10 years ago. this agency cannot even give me any invoices charges only that the card was opened inSept of 1999.

After reading several articles where people have had numerous difficulties with this company why is noone investigating this bank and their credit card offers?

Received mailing for a credit card with spending limit up to 250. They charged enough fees so that when you actually tried to use the card you only approximately 30.00 that you could use. Wrote multiple letters to address requesting that the account be closed. Account was sent to collections for non payment. Contacted Bank again, according to the Bank card had been cancelled, made arrangements to pay off balance in three equal installments which were deducted from my regular bank acct. Have continued to receive notices and collection calls stating that I still owe the First National Bank of Marin 151.00 and that I still owe this money.

Just got a call from a fourth different collection agency stating that I owe this balance. When I explain that I have submitted the documents to the previous three collection agencies that the debt is paid in full, they state that I must send it to them because they just received the collection acct from the Bank in February 2008. When asked for a contact at the Bank I was given the phone number to the toll free operator of 1-800-555-1212.

For the past year, I have made sure that all my payments are up to date and on time so that I can obtain a home loan. This item keeps showing up on my credit report as an open and continuing debt from now 4 different collection agencies, when it was paid in full well over 16 months ago.

I opened up an account with this bank around 2000. After their initial fee, they sent me my credit card and continued taking money out of my checking account--but never allowed me to charged anything. Since then I've been getting turned down for credit. Now they claim Credit One is taking over all former clients, and I still have not been able to get this off my credit report.
