Providian "Destinations Unlimited" |
||||||
|
My girlfriend has a Providian credit card. Right after she received the card last year they talked her into signing up for this Destination Unlimited travel card at a cost of $119.00. The menu process that you must use to find out subscribers to the discount accommodations is confusing and then you are still required to double check with your choice of accommodations to make sure that they are a suscriber to the service. We Called the 800 number for Destination Unlimited to see if they had a website or a catalog that is easier to use to find places that we can use their discount card and they tell you that they will send out a catalog that shows you a listing of who are subscribers. Well the catalog we got was simply a promotional catalog saying that there are hundeds of hotels/motels that support the Destination Unimitied card. No list like they promised to send. To top this off, when she got the first card last year and we went though their lack of service they still insisted that she try the card when she asked to cancel it. Well she just didn't want to deal with them anymore and chalked it up as a $119.00 lesson in life. But now they have charged her card again and said that they had the right under her original subscription to the service and once again she asked to cancel the card and was told that she should try the card for 10 days and then see if she wants to cancel. She explained that there is no reason for a 10 day trial and they insisted that she call back in 10 days. What kind of scam is this! This has cost her a total of 238.00 plus finace charges on a service that she has never used. We have spent at least 90 minutes on the phone trying to learn how to use the card and/or get info on the service and feel that we didn't get either. Report Your Experience
