John of Oceanside, CA (9/17/05):
I didn't want to be late with my monthly Providian payment, so I emailed them asking to change my due date. Their reply stated I could pick any date between the 10th and the 19th. After I picked the 13th they sent me an email stating they were increasing my finance charges for the date change! There was no mention of a finance change in their emails until after I picked a new date.

I had to refuse the date change because I cannot afford anymore then I'm paying now.
