I was on a plan that guranteed the rate for as long as I had the plan. My credit card was lost and a new card issued but before I got the card they billed me for service and when it was declined they would only reinstate the service at twice the previous rate -

The cost would have more than doubled.

Had 7 days left on my membership & was cancelled for no reason when I tried to find out why I was cancelled I received this canned response Due to our privacy practices, Match.com cannot disclose specifics regarding the email without a validly issued subpoena directed to Match.com, LLC. Please note that all civil subpoenas must be served on Match.com, LLCs registered agent (noted below) in the manner provided by law.? So apparently I cant receive a reason & I have looked in vain for a phone number for them & I cant find one. Additionally since I have been a member I have been spammed by so-called Russian woman & Im in the USA! Now I am receiving emails asking me to re-join their site with a 15% discount. They cut your membership short without reason & unexpectedly. Then they want you to re-join so you will pay again to contact those matches you are in contact with.

Well its simply this I have a few matches I am legitimately in contact with & if my membership isnt fixed then I wont have anyway to correspond with those matches. And this is why I joined in the first place.

I just experienced the same scenario as another complaint posted here. On 4/32/08 I signed up for Match due to a promotion for 6 months free for a 1 year subscription. I was charged 119.94. In October I found out they charged me another 119.94 for a renewal. They did not send me a letter or email notifying me that my renewal was coming up, and if I was in danger of not qualifying for what turned out to be a qualifier for the 6 months free. They said for 2 months I only sent 1 or 2 emails, as opposed to the required 5. I think this is a really bad policy, as well as their no refund policy, for a variety of reasons. In my case I had to work internationally during those months and had limited time to use or access the internet for personal purposes, much less the focus.

I joined Match because it is recommended and rated one of the top dating services. I would not recommend this site to anyone, not only because of this reason but also because the quality of men is not up to par in most cases. I've heard E-Harmony works better. In the end, I spoke to a supervisor who agreed to give me a partial refund of 86, which is better than nothing. The other option was to cancel this subscription and open another one to take advantage of a new promotion of 30% off for 6 months. I decided to the refund, because I don't want to use Match anymore. I appreciate her willingness to compromise, but I strongly warn anyone who signs up to read the find print, and note Match doesn't think they're obligated to warn you of an upcoming renewal. Buyer beware!

If I had read the complaints here about Match.com before the same thing happened to me, I would have assumed everyone here was whining or somehow deserved what happened. Then, the same thing happened to me as others here. On Friday I paid for a six-month membership. I was able to log on and communicate with someone already. Suddenly Saturday when trying to log on I was told Your account has been blocked, contact the executive team. Match.com makes it very hard to contact customer care and I sent a number of emails to the executive team and phoned customer service, getting their number not from the web page but by calling the only number I could find online for Match.com the PR department.

I got their attention somehow, and got an email from the executive team saying I was blocked to protect the Match.com community. They also said To protect the privacy of our members they would not release any information as to why I was blocked unless sent a subpoena. Flabbergasted again: I have never done anything wrong, have no criminal record, an an upstanding citizen, family man, business owner.. simply crazy. My only guess of what happened might be, when I was on Match.com about a year ago for a month, I met a woman and we dated once. I ended it very politely, she was angry at me, she even posted something rude about my username in her profile, it was disturbing. I ended my service at that time.

When I recently joined again this past Friday, her profile was one of the first on my list. Maybe she made some sort of false complaint? I am probably grasping at straws here, because there is absolutely no explanation for this, absolutely unbelievable. I do not understand why they would block someone without explaining why. It seems they must be making those decisions somehow, what else would spark them if not accusations from members? And if so, why would they not ask the other party for an explanation? It seems like the Salem witch hunt days. It seems strange, and very disturbing.

So far it seems I am out over 100 for my six-month membership - the email they sent me saying I was blocked to protect the community did not say anything about refunding my money. I have no way of logging on to get my money back, and when I call customer service and can get someone, they tell me they can not help me but they can send an email to the executive team.

I received an email telling me to edit my profile, but I could not log in to make the changes. Can someone resolve this for me?

My bank account has been debited 39.90 and I've never been able to use the service.
