Match.com

Debra of Porterville CA (11/04/08)
My Visa card was charged twice by match.com and then recredited back. I have never used match.com and have no idea how they got my account number. They charged a handling fee of 1.29 and that was not refunded. How do I talk to a real person?

I cancelled this service on 7/28/2008 and received a confirmation email for the cancelation. On 10/27/2008 they charged my card 50.97. When I contacted them they informed me they have a no refund policy even though i attached a copy of their confirmation of cancellation email to my request. How can it be a refund when the serviced was cancelled? Is this not theft? Why is it that they have no contact phone number, are they afraid to deal directly from the people?

Joy of Berwyn, PA October 29, 2008

Joy of Berwyn PA (10/29/08)
I met someone and have been seeing him for quite some time. He asked to be removed from the match.com mailing list, and still received 'matches' on a regular basis. He assured me he has not been visiting the site, yet when I ran a search, it appeared as though he had been active within 24 hours. I emailed match.com twice to find out what the problem was, and I received a response that they would get back to me within 24 hours. I have heard nothing. There is no phone number available for contacting them.

And, until I can get an answer, it is causing much distress in our relationship. Either they have a faulty program, or I am with someone who is still searching and lying to me.

Chaz of Chatsworth, CA October 21, 2008

Chaz of Chatsworth CA (10/21/08)
Became a subscriber 10/17/08 at a cost of 39.99 on my bank account. (Okay, so I trusted them.) Exactly 48 hours later I was unable to log on. The message declared they had no record of my email address, even though they JUST emailed me my username and password. Sent repeated emails for 3 days - only received automated response to call their phone line. Called their phone line - was told to email them and then was disconnected. Contacted my bank - will cost 30 to stop further payments.

I am definitely out the 39.99 for services NOT rendered (being able to log on and, presumably, connect with someone). The time and effort to resolve the situation - REPEATEDLY. Emotional aggravation.
