Match.com

Luis of Waterford CA (10/13/08)
I am, or I was a paid member at Match.com and after the first week they said I had a problem with my paid account membership. Now, I cannot log into my profile, and my money is gone until further approaches. So join me, to stop date sites that take advatage of honest and hard working people of the world to boycott or enforce these sites! Like to put more restrictions about who gets in or out of these sites?

I think I lost the first month? I guess, but I learned to not do the same thing again. I not mad at anyone, but I am motivated to share my ideas to related individuals and for future victims that will be facing similar situations. I would like to team up with anyone who felt these type of legal unfair approaches from this scam sites. Match.com site does not have a contact phone numbere and is unfair to those who pay for these type of sites. I hope to start a campaign about enforcing datesites.

Match.com nigeria scam in Google says it all. I am a paid subscriber of match.com and was contacted by a wayans1962. The next day his subscription was to expire so he asked that I e-mail him at a Yahoo account. From there the love letters streamed in, every day, very detailed. I bought it for a little while thinking I had met Mr. Right. He worked in the family cocoa business with offices in Salinas and Nigeria. He was on his way to Nigeria because his mom was diagnosed with cancer and needed an operation. He said he ran out of cash and that his bank didn't do business with South Africa so could I send him money. Like an idiot I sent 200.

After that he started asking for log on id's and passwords, bank information and account numbers so he could have a client send me money so I could wire it to him. I of course now am realizing what is happening and said no. I didn't hear from him for 3 days - which was odd since he wrote or called me every day. A friend sent me to Google to the match.com nigeria scam and I about died! Everything listed is exactly what I experienced. Down to the handsome/sexy pictures sent to me and the guys accent. This is a HUGE problem it seems. I wouldn't have ever thought this could have happened to me on a paid for and reputable dating service. I have copies of all the pictures, phone numbers and e-mails this person sent me. Of course he really doesn't exist and some poor souls pictures are being lifted from somewhere and they have no idea.

I understand Match.com can't police hundreds of thousands of profiles but I think they should take some responsibility in posting a warning note or inform all new members that this could happen and if it does to let them know and contact authorities. If I would have received a notice like that I would have been so much more aware of what was happening as soon as it started.

I lost 200 and had to contact the credit agencies and put a 90 day hold on any transactions for fear these scamers may try to apply for credit fraudenly with my information.

they billed my account monthly without my knowledge, after i only signed up for a 1 month acct.

i was being billed for months I didn't want, when i was waiting for my acct to expire. I lost about 80+ due to their practices. I thought i would only being paying a 1 time fee and I would have the choice to renew. I did not know they would continue to bill be wihtout my consent.
