I went on two out of the six that were part of the contract. After the first date, I called to complain that the woman they referred was too old and was not een close as far as common interests. They told me it would take time to fine tune the prospective referrals. The second referral was in my age group but we had no common interests. We talked over dinner and she told me that The Right One had been pulling the same type of 'throw a dart at the board' references for her also. I called and complained again and they told me I was being too picky. I then stopped payments to them and now they have an attorney hounding me for the balance.
I am getting letters and phone calls from their attorneys stating there is nothing I can do and the contract is ironclad and claiming I would lose in court because the contract is bullet proof.

Ah love, one will try almost anything to find it, be introduced to it and even pay money for it. I have fallen victim to the 'will provide you with dates of suitable matches for money.' Yet, many dates later, no love. So my gripe? They said they would introduce me to six men for 1,120.00 plus 311.67 and 24.95 every month for six months. I agreed and a deal was struck. Oh yes, they did forget to mention (how conveniently) that it was six REFERRALS. So I joined in June, 2007 and I just had my fifth date. I called them to ask where my sixth referral was and they informed me that my membership had expired. Then they reminded me that they had referred me six men and they have no way of knowing whether I had those dates or not. When I informed them I had indeed only five dates, and that 3 or 4 of the men didn't call me. I was told basically 'oh well... not my problem.' I should have known in hindsight that when a company deceives its prospective clients at the onset..advertising by the side of the road that says jenkintownsingles.org when it is in fact a match making service, not a website.. that it has deceitful practices. So I'm out the money and very frustrated by the coercive and manipulative sales practices of this company as well as the financial promise and no delivery. Like others, I am a well educated, not picky person looking for love. So consumers beware!

Let me add my name to the long list of people cheated by The Right One.
It has now been almost two years since I paid the rediculous price to be introduced to someone who met a precise set of criteria. I was not real fussy but wanted to meet someone who a)lived in my area b)was in my age group c)was available d)was of good charachter. I also wanted to meet someonewithin a reasonable amount of time.
The first introduction was a nice young woman who met me and immediately said that she was sorry but I did not fall in the age group she had specified. She appologized and said that she was pretty fed up as I was her last chance on her contract and none had fit her initial request. When i spoke with Angie at the right one she told me that the woman must have just not been attracted to me and used that as an excuse. I called the woman back and she told me that she had definately specified someone in a younger age group than myself.
The second introduction lived in the next State over. It was a good hour and a half drive to her home and both of us had specified a 25 mile radius.
The next referral told me she was dating someone already when I called.
6 months later I received a letter asking me why I had not responded to an individual. I let them know I had never received the introduction letter but was still eager to meet someone.
Since then I have received another letter (a year later now) telling me that as I had not responded to them they were cancelling my membership. I had been on the phone just a month before with one of their reps telling them I wanted a refund due to non performance.
Lately, I see a new crop of signs posted in the parkways around Rockford enticing people to jone what I am sure is the same thing.
Someone needs to stop these people. they prey on a basic human need and make promises they never keep or, I believe, have any intention of keeping.
They claim to use a scientific approach to helping people find those who would be interested in them. In truth, I believe they just look for other suckers they can pair up with you!
I'm not a shallow person and did not even have a limited criteria as to physical looks although I wanted someone who was intelligent and clean.
I am out 3800 dollars plus interest as I signed up for their finance plan. Fortunately, I have only spent money on two dates with women who simply were not interested in anyone like myslef.
The biggest loss is the emotional loss from being led to believe I would meet people with similar intersts. what a shame that I would put my money and my hopes in an organization that provides such false hopes.
Can anyone spell class action lawsuit.
If for no other reason they just need to be stopped Carolyn D. Verhoye of San Diego, CA March 15, 2008
I saw signs in my neighborhood that said: Single? PointLomaDating.org and this led me to believe that a LOCAL dating service was looking for interested singles. I emailed and found out it was sort of a net that they cast all over the county, to get people to join their larger umbrella organization--The Right One. I reluctantly made an appointment and spent about 3 hours filling out forms and being screened. They promised that they only deal with educated, professional people.
I am a fairly attractive, very educated (3 advanced degrees/ credentials) woman who is an elder in my church. I love to travel and have a good time. So after this THOROUGH screening...the first referral was a man with a HS education who inherited his father's construction truck/water truck business. He called me drunk, from his car, in front of a bar, telling me his life story for almost 2 hours, and also telling me he had a breathalyzer in his glove box so that he'd make sure it was okay to drive.
I won't bore you with the details of the next four men. I had such a huge case of Buyer's Remorse that I wrote a letter to TRO, demanding 1/2 of my money back. They wrote me a form letter about 10 days later and told me that they still wanted to work with me and were unable to refund ANY money.
Loss of 2,000 b/c I SIGNED a contract. I am very disappointed, disgusted, and unhappy. Thank you. Sharon of Franklin, WI March 11, 2008
I joined January 14, 2008. Wisconsin residents are allowed 72 hours to cancel, in writing. I delivered my written notice to her office on 1/17/08, timely. I have still not seen my money. I am going to sit outside her office every day until I receive my refund. Believe me! She acknowledged the cancellation, and seemed shocked that I hadn't gotten it yet. It's been 2 months, contract says I'll get my refund within 21 days! If you're considering joining, think again and re-read these posts. Good luck to you!

I was invited for an interview to participate in their program. They called me many times over a number of weeks and were highly manipulative. I finally went to one of their appointments and was treated horribly and without any respect whatsoever. All they wanted was money and IMMEDIATE DECISION. When I didn't agree I was verbally attacked and insulted.
I was not harmed financially because I did not accept the program. It did cost me time and inconvenience. However, as a licensed psychologist, I worry about others who many be very vulnerable and damaged by such harassing, manipulative and insulting behavior.

They use very high pressure sales tactics and prey on your emotions to get you to join...TODAY. It cost 3000 for a basic membership, with a promise to find me a mate. After a long conversation with an agent (after 7 pitiful and insulting matches) about my dissatisfaction, I haven't heard back from them since. A CRIMINAL company-- these folks should NOT be in business still! It's outrageous that they've gotten away with it for this long.
3,000 is about 10% of my yearly income, and after a year I'm still paying off the debt. It was the biggest scam I'm sure I have ever been a victim of, and it's infuriating that I have no recourse!

I have been a member of this company since 2004. I paid 2K with the promise of finding Mr. Right in 20 matches or less. Well, I've been sent over 30 matches. Most of them I refused to meet just based on the initial phone call with them. They use your emotions against you and lie straight to your face to get your money. Once they have the cash in hand, you mean nothing to them. The matches they send you are a joke. They claim they do background checks (financially and criminally) of all their potential members. The last match I was sent was not only my ex-boyfriend's brother, he also has a criminal record several pages long. I've also been told recently that they are in such need of male members, they don't always charge them to join. As sad as it is, meeting people in a bar is much cheaper and you'll probably have better odds.
I lost 2,000. After consulting the BBB, I was told there was nothing I could do because I had signed all kinds of documents releasing them of any fault or requirement of refund if unhappy.

I told Jeannie that I was looking for a beautiful, very nice, teacher or nurse, that was slender and 5'7, 5'8 or 5'9. I complained after the first two contacts were 5'4 and 5'5 and neither were slender. She called with two more contacts, and I called both. One was not Caucasion, which I specifically requested, and the other I met after work. She was a nice person but definitely not slender.
The Right One caught me at a time in my life when I was very lonely, and they painted this pretty picture telling me they had thousands of beautiful women, that were searching for the right person but didn't have time to find them. I was very specific about the person I was looking for, and Jeannie was taking notes as I talked to her. I believe this is a scam of the highest degree preying on people's emotions, at a very vulnerable time in their lives.
