Julia of Muskogee, OK February 16, 2010 I paid off accounts with them, and they are still reporting me to the credit bureaus. I am in the process of trying to get a home loan. I gave authorization for the lender at my bank to speak with them, in order to help me. She said the guy just talked in circles. Also, if anyone has information on a collection agency call First Choice, please say so. Paid them, & I'm still getting penalized. I realize I screwed up, but now I'm trying to straighten my mess out & these people are still killing my credit rating, even though I've done my part! I am still being reported delinquent to all three credit bureaus, even thoug the accounts have been paid off for months Jason of Sahuarita, AZ February 12, 2010 I recently settled an account with Arrow Financial. The amount on my account was 6000 before penalties and intrest charges. The amount with all of that added in was 7386.96. They settled for 2100. I spoke with the IRS, and was informed that the amount settled would need to be deducted from the credit card balance of 6000. The amount left over which was 3900 should be placed on a 1099-C form with the intrest listed seperatly in another box on the form. I was informed that I might be able to get the intrest waived because it wasn't money given to me to spend, therefore, it didn't raise my income for the year in question. I contacted Arrow Financial to inform them the amount on the 1099-C was not correct and that the intrest needed to be placed in the box labeled for such purposes. That would mean 1386.96 should be pulled from the total amount and recorded as penalties and so on. I spoke with a representitive named Tiffany. Instead of assisting me with the error, she placed me on hold and sent me to voice mail. How is it that companies like this can get away with not taking responsibility for their actions. I understand my mess is my mess, but I'm trying to take care of it and straighten my finances out. It makes it pretty hard when companies like this choose greed over helping people settle their debts and move on. Sean of Clarendon, NC January 22, 2010 Settled 2 different credit cards accounts with Arrow Financial back in April 2009. Since than, this company refuses to delete/update this accounts on my credit reports. I have spend relentless hours writing letters in last 7 months. Arrow Financial never responded to me. After filing a complaint with Illinois Attorney General's Office, I have received an "update form" from Arrow Financial. I paid and closed my accounts. But they are still updating my accounts "monhly" basis with all 3 credit bureaus. Debra of Stafford Springs , CT January 19, 2010 I called to find out how much money I owed on an old credit card from First Premier Bank because I had never received a letter stating that they even had my account. I also asked if there was a way to get a settlement so I didn't have to pay the whole account because the card only had 250.00 of available credit now its up to over 600.00. The people that I spoke with at this company told me that they are not allowed to mail me any paper work do to there companies policies. If I had not called I never would have known that this company had my account. But to tell me that you can not send me information on the balance of my account I find to be shady practices. They also told me that they do not negotiate with anyone in the state of Connecticut but all 49 others they negotiate to get the bills down? joelle of washburn, WI December 29, 2009 trying to get a loan and seems creditors are reporting to the credit beaures 2 or 3 times the same accounts and making your credit look worse than what it is. this needs to stop. caused me not to be able to get a loan and made me real depressed antoine of dorchester, MA October 31, 2009 i have called these people about an item that my wife and i found on her credit report and they have not yet got in touch with us. after 15 msg left on there voice mail we want to find out what it is and get it off. please help. this makes no sense. they can call us for money but cant help with wrongful items. they can look at my wife's account with them. she has paid off every account Carla of Riverside, CA July 16, 2009 A an with an Indian accent called my work and left a harrasing message on my voicemail on a day that I was not there. Stated that i owe money i commited fraud and i yelled at him and old him to transfer me to someone who talks real english and knows the facts because it all sounds crazy. The second person gets on his name is rick and he states I borrowed 500.00 in march of 2009 through bank of america and that i never payed this loan back. don't know what he is talking about but he is nuts. he threatened me with wage garnishment and criminal charges. Ida of Oak Park, MI June 6, 2009 Thursday 6/4/09 I rec'd a message to contact Officer Derick Brown at work, so I returned his called and he asked who was that I identified myself and he stated who he was..He begin by saying is this Ida Miller and I said yes and he listed my bank info in full. Very rude and arrogant stated that I had committed online fraud regarding a loan that I took out sometime 5/15/08 of last year which I did not remember anything about. Collection agency collecting a debt he stated that if I did not take care of this matter today that I would be served a warrant for my arrest, so I said let me call you back because I was at work and I could not discuss this over the phone, so I called him back and he said we have discussed this matter and you will pay today or be arrested I don't care how you pay it by credit/debit card whoevers account just pay today or you will be arrested. so when I arrive home by daughter got the message stated that one of your family members has committed fraud and you too will be arrested along with her if this matter is not resolved. I tried to report it to Oak park police dept but the officer made me so upset that I just left because she stated that when she called D. Brown that this was an attempt to collect a dept. But yet he would not give me a phone number to contact so I am scared because these people have my information and I don't know what to do about it. He scared me so bad I even contacted the FBI because I was so afraid of being arrested for something that I did not know or remember anything about. Please help me resolve this matter.
