ROSE of ENID, OK November 17, 2009

I went thru Debt scape in 2003-2005, I owed around 18,000 dollars. I was paying 569.00 a month for two years. After 2 years I still owed what I begun with. I even paid out of pocket on my taxes that I owed. After I got out I contacted all my creditors and found out that many had changed hands. I finally contacted them and made arrangements to pay each one myself. After I paid off all of them in 2005. At the time I lived in KC MO. I moved to Enid OK. in 2008/ I was here 8 months when I received a letter from Midland saying I owed them a little over 2000.00 dollars. I explained to them that I already paid this, and I told them that I just moved and I had a storage in KC MO and I was still uppacking here and I was not sure where all my paperwork was and even if I still had it, I finally went back to KCMO and went thru everything, same thing here. Within a month they contacted a Law Firm, I received a lot of letters from them, I called and talked to them, but they did not care. I finally sent them a print out where Debt scape had paid them approx 1900.00 on this and I was not aware of any thing else that was owed on this. this account was I though was for 1500.00 dollars.

I told the lawyers take me to court because I had paper work to back me up showing that I had paid and that thru the same company Midland LLC I had paid off another Credit card in 2005 that they had handled from Debtscape. They told the lawyers they could not contact me. Which is not true, I lived in the same house in KCMO for 4years. Anyway, i went to court thinking that I had every thing I would need to redemy this. If I owed anything I would pay it. I was not looking for a way out, I just did not want to have to pay for something I already paid for and if I owed anymore I would of paid it. The Judge asked me if I had a Lawyer, I told me I could not afford one, he hit his gavel and said there was a summary against me and I had to pay, I tried to explain that I sent the printouts to the lawyer and this court where Debtscape had made payments. They did not care. Now I owe 2600.00 dollars for something I had paid thru Debt scape something I had no Idea was still lingering after 4 years. Where is the justice in this. I did the right thing by getting help to pay these bills instead of going Bankrupt. The reason I had these bills was because I got ill and could not work for 3 months. When it got overwhelming with all the interest I was being charged I just wanted to pay them. I received a check from the lawyers that are suing Debt scape and it was for 68.00 dollars a far cry from the 13656.00 dollars that i had paid Debtscape. I just want this all to be over, I cannot afford for anyone else to say I owe them. It does not seem to matter if I can prove or not.

Hamilton of Columbus, OH November 16, 2009

They have shut down phone lines and web page pretty much. I did get an answer one day on phone and was told they were having computer problems. They can not be contacted anymore. CLOSE BANK ACCOUNTS NOW SO THEY CANT TAKE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kathy of Seattle, WA October 27, 2009

Debtscape has been handling my debt management plan for a year and 1/2. In September, it came to my attention that while they were still deducting 716 from my checking account monthly, my credit cards were not being paid on time, I was accruing significant late fees, my credit cards were threatening to drop me from the debt management plan. After MANY unreturned phone calls and emails, I finally reached Dave H.

Mr. H. promised to look into the matter for me and call me back, which he never did. I had to resort to calling him back several times to find out, finally, that my account was being transferred to another debt management company in New York.

After the account was transferred, I called Mr. H. back specifically to tell him that I was no longer a Debtscape client, and that Debtscape no longer had authorization to debit my checking account. He agreed, and told me my account was closed. Come to find out 10.26.09 that I was debited once again for 716, and now Mr. H. will not return phone calls. NUMEROUS bank fees due to either late credit card payments and the overdraft fees that came as a direct result of them debiting my account for the 716. I had a car payment that was returned, in addition to many other charges, due to Debtscape's negligence.

Brian of Richmond, IN September 15, 2009

I have been in the deptscape program for 4-5 months with automatic payments taken out of my checking account of 151.00 a month. My creditors have not been paid for the past 60 days and they have continued to take out my payment. They will not return my phone calls for an explanation or correction. They are ruining my credit. How to I fix this and how do I get my money back?

Denise of Rahway, NJ September 10, 2009

I am still waiting to hear from Debtscape...they still have not emailed me or called me back and they still have not paid my creditors. I keep receiving delinqency notices and they are ruining my credit. I am out of work and this is the last thing I need! I just send a complaint to the BBB! That hopefully will work!

Nora of San Francisco, CA September 5, 2009

I have been with Debtscape for well over 5 years. My debt should have been paid off this coming October 2009. On the 10th of every month, Debtscape withdraws 357.00 from my checking account to pay my Macys credit card. On August 10 they did withdraw 357.00 from my checking account, but as of September 5, 2009, they have failed to pay my pending Macys account. I am now 2 months in arrears, and they are still holding my money.

I have dealt with M. Howell in the past and she has corrected their errors. I have called and emailed them various times in the past 2 weeks and no one is returning my calls or emails. They are still holding my 357.00 and my next payment of 357.00 is due Sept. 10, 2009. If I don't hear from them I am going to put a stop payment on that amount.

I cannot locate them. Where is my money? Who do I contact? Who can help me? I have even written to their CEO, D. Hensel. My credit is at risk. I am retired and on a fixed income, and this lose is great for me and my credit rating. Can you help me? I now owe Macys 662.00 (its 2 months in arrears). Where is my money?

Denise of Rahway, NJ August 24, 2009

I have been trying to contact Debtscape for weeks now in regards to my account and letters I am receiving from my creditors stating that Debtscape has not paid any of my creditors yet they have been continually taking out my electronic payment of 605 out of my bank account each month. If they are not paying my creditors what are they doing with my money and why haven't they called me back or emailed me???? I am keeping all my phone and email records!!!! I want my money back!

Tara of Accokeek, MD August 13, 2009

I've been trying to get Debtscape to return my call since last week Friday. I spoke with Ms. Howell on last week Monday requesting copies of documents that I need for a court issue with a collection agency regarding my Bank of America account which Debtscape was handling before they transferred my account to another debt consolidation company. I've not been able to reach anyone by phone or via email. All I want is for someone to talk with me and get me the documents that I need.

Tommy of Dallas, TX January 5, 2009

Tommy of Dallas TX (01/05/09)
I was a fool to sign up with Debtscape back in 2002. Debtscape describes themselves as a non profit organization, but they were getting more profit than they were sending my creditors. I'm still in the process of cleaning up my credit report after 6 years. They sent my creditors the miminum due while the late fees and overdraft fees added up. No one ever communicated with me. I added up all of my debt in the beginning and calculated that I would be done paying them in 2 1/2 years. So 2 1/2 years go by and they tell me that I have 2 more years before I pay off my debt. My debt was only 6000 and I mailed them 200 every month for 2 1/2 years. You do the math. I need to sue them so bad. I need my 6000 back.

I've been so stressed and all this has caused me to get on anti-depressants, but I'm off now and I'm still working on my credit report.
