Lana of Arlington TX (10/18/02):
I thought that consolidating my bills would be helping me pay off my credit card bills faster because I am a student and it's hard to pay so many bills at once. I joined this company and understood what their job was supposed to do. I made sure that I understood all terms before signing the contract. I was to pay $162 every month to them and they were supposed to cut a check to my creditors from this amount that I paid to them. They negotiated my interest rates to lower them and that was understand between me and the company.

I started in November 2001, making the first payments (I have bank statements proving that I paid them on time) and September 2002 was my last payment because I found out that they were not making the payments to the cc companies. I ALWAYS contacted them because I was getting late fees added to my accounts and no one at the office would respond to my phone calls or give me any information on my account. I finally tried to apply for a personal loan to get this paid off because I felt safer paying to a bank, rather than a company. I then found out that I had a negative credit report because of past due credit card payments.

I was NEVER LATE and current on all my bills before I signed with this company and I don't understand how my payment, which gets automatically deducted every month on the same day, could be late to these creditors. Nationwide Credit Counselors refuse to answer my questions regarding these payments that they collected and DID NOT SEND OUT TO THE CREDITORS and always say that my file is in their accounting department and that they do not have access to the account. I am very upset and I don't know where to start or how to go about this.

All I want to know is how to contest to the credit bureaus and how do I fix my credit history and how can I get all my money back?

I now have a bad credit history due to this company's false services. I have to pay on fees added onto my credit cards because they did not send out my payments, for which I paid them monthly to have this done. I am currently struggling to pay these creditors off and regain control of my debts to get me back on the track. I am a full time college student and I work full time and it is VERY HARD to juggle this situation with work and school.
