Postal Service May Seek Service Cut
Movie Fans Suspect Foul Play at the Post Office

Betsy of Chicago, IL July 27, 2009

I got my letter recently and i was expecting some handmade goods my friend sent me. you may not think its enough but it really meant alot to me. i got the letter in a small plastic baggy saying that "we are sorry for your inconvenience." they managed to give me the papers that were INSIDE the letter but not the contents that had been IN the letter. It made me very mad because i had been awaiting this letter for 2 weeks and i just found out that i had gotten the letter in a condition which appeared like someone had opened it down the middle as if some one were to read what was inside.

Kim of Hanson, MA July 27, 2009

Today I received MY envelope that I sent to back, in my mailbox marked "RETURED WITHOUT CONTENTS". It was clearly damaged by the post office the envelope is ripped on the side and opened and the contents are not in there, I went to the post office and they just looked at my blank faces & simply stating that won't issue a refund to me. The package had been secured with packing tape as always and it was one of those bubble wrapped evelopes so for it to tear open makes no sense to me. Plus I had it to be signed for, so why they put it in my mailbox instead of handing it to me, I have no idea..

Chantel of Lake City, KS July 6, 2009

I have lodged several complaints about our mail carrier over the last 14 months. On June 26, 2009, I called 1-800-ASK-USPS to lodge another complaint. The mail carrier dropped my package out of her vehicle window. This package contained fertile chicken eggs. Since the person who sent it to me was told he could not put insurance on it, I was told that there was nothing I could do if there was a problem with the package. As of today, July 6, 2009, none of the eggs developed chicks.

I was supposed to receive another package of fertile chicken eggs on July 3, 2009. Instead, I got a slip of paper in my mailbox that said I had a package at the post office. I called and told them that I had no way of coming to get it and that if the package was left until Monday, the eggs would be no good. The postmaster from Medicine Lodge called me later in the day and basically told me that my only option was to find a way to go get the package.

I don't see why I should be out the money on the eggs, even though I did not have insurance on them. No one ever called me or sent me a note telling me that they were no longer going to deliver packages to my mailbox to "avoid any more problems" with the package deliveries. Shouldn't I have been told that they were no longer going to deliver packages to my mailbox? If I had known they were not going to, I would have asked the sender to deliver through UPS or FedEx. So now what do I do? Because of the lack of professionalism on the post office's part, I have just lost almost 40.00 on chicken eggs.

Russell of Orlando, FL June 30, 2009

I collect Antique Postcards and other items from Florida. I make sure EVERYONE puts on the envelop "DO NOT BEND." That must be a beacon for the postal employees who are half wits. I continually go to my postbox which is about 6 x 8 inches and find my 8x12 in flat packages SHOVED in there, with "Don Not Bend" on the envelop. I have complainted to the Orlando Post Office but they are full of excuses and promises that never hold up. There is no accountability. They are all liars and fools. I have heard the post office may be shut down over time....well GOOD RIDDENS.. they are worthless now. I hope they rot in hell for the sins they committ daily with the consumers.

Marsha of Holly Hill, FL June 26, 2009

Can you believe it? you pay for a service and they are supposed to do their job. but they don't. my box arrives at destination empty with a note 'item damaged'. the box was obviously tampered with and re-taped. Maybe UPS is better.

Ted of Dallas, TX June 25, 2009

Post Office damaged my package and returned to me stamped with "RECEIVED WITHOUT CONTENTS". It was clearly damaged by the post office the package was crushed and opened and the contents probably fell out at the post office. The package had been secured with packing tape as always, this seal had been cut? No the package was not insured, but the post office won't refund my postage or address the damaged they caused. They simply have stated that there where no contents enclosed and can't or won't issue a refund to me.

Michael of Charlotte, MI June 20, 2009

I have a Postal Deliverer who either considers themselves a great practical joker or just doesn't care to much for their job. Every day I get mail, my mailbox is left open. I have gone to my local post office and personally asked for this to stop. I have left little notes taped to the porch next to my mailbox asking politely for the mailbox lid to be closed. Neither action has worked in the slightest.

I have a mailbox that opens from the top, and in Michigan, the weather is known to change rapidly and there's been days that my mail has been ruined because the lid was left open allowing rain to pour into the box. I don't know what else to do about this problem. I'm going to have to buy a new mailbox soon if she (my delivery person) continues doing this because it is causing the hinges on my mailbox to rust.

martin of Lawrenceville, GA June 20, 2009

My daughter is currently working in shakopee as a summer student she forward keys to her apartment and post office to me to check her mail as I would be going to arkansas. The letter arrived to me in Georgia empty torn up and taped up with nothing in it. No statement from post master stating mail was damaged or anything just empty. As I have read some of the complaints from other around america concerning the USPS its time to do something about not just talk about it because it appears nothing is being done about it.

Renita of Montgomery, AL June 12, 2009

My personal and business mail is being tampered with and Mr. S claiming to be the Head Manager over the downtown Post Office states there is nothing he or the post office can do about my mail being pre-opened before delivery and about the refusal of delivery after I complained about it. I told him I could get statements from Al Power, Alagasco, Geico and others on their mail sent to me which I never received.

I have a right to UNOPENED MAIL, to the delivery of all mail sent to me and the respectful treatment of those rights when dealing with the Postal Service. The opened mail was from my college and would have contained 5,500 check for student loans but I did not take the summer semester. This is the third time my college mail has arrived opened for a new semester, when does it become safe again? Hackers at the public library are also causing idenity theft for its users, I was compromised at the end of my semester this year to.

George of Halifax, NS June 10, 2009

I had a package delivered from SeaCorals, and it arrived damaged. I contacted Canada Post, and they told me I had to contact USPS. I contacted them, and they told me to have the Company file a claim. Four months later, I received some paperwork to fill in. I filled in the forms, and mailed them out 2 days later. I contacted Sea Corals, and they called USPS. Apparently USPS send ot a form for them to fill out.

They never received the form, so I had them contact USPS again, and again. The fourth time they apparently send out the form, it arrived. The form was received by USPS on May 18, 2006. I received the package on November 2008. It has been 7 months, and the problem still hasn't been resolved. I can not believe that USPS mail does not arrived 3 times. How can it get lost so many times? Is USPS that bad, or did they not send out the forms the first 3 times?
