Movie Fans Suspect Foul Play at the Post Office

Joe of Arlignton VA (10/31/08)
I receive mail in a big bank of boxes for which the carrier opens a large locked door to expose all of the boxes for the building. Last night the carrier had stuffed large pieces of mail into my box, including a CD, and I had to struggle with and to shred its packaging and another large piece of mail to pull it through the small door which I open. The carrier could have just given it to the desk attendant like they always do with to much or too large mail pieces.

Improper mail delivery by particular mail carrier and intentional mail mutilation. Multiple complains to the post office administration without results.

Mail mutilation and lost of mail .

Rev of Dongola, IL September 24, 2008

Rev of Dongola IL (09/24/08)
I ordered ink jets from a company on the internet and recieved a few days later a crushed and taped up box, stamped fragile. Half the contents were missing although the packing order was inside. I then went to the post office to complain. I was told since the box was not insured that there was nothing they can do. They did offer to see if they could locate them in the lost and found somewhere up the road. Losing my merchandise is one thing but having to deal with some smart elect with the mentality of a grape fruit just gripes my-- well. Guess I won't be getting any better service not to mention being out 30.00.

This same post master sent my mother's car title back to state as non deliverable because she didn't recognise the address even though it's 2 blocks from the post office. She also delivered my mother's disabled car liscence plate to my home address and I live out in the country 5 miles from town. There again it was stamped undeliverable. The funny thing is, my rural carrier delivers mail to my mother's address too, yet half of it seems to be undeliverable. Complaining doesn't seem to help, you just gotta take it and lump it I guess.

Box originaly held 4 inkjets when shipped. When recieved it was crushed, ripped open and then retaped. 2 inkjets where gone pluss all the peenuts. The folded up packing list and order where still inside. Box was clearly stamped fragile. I'm out 30.00 plus 4.00 dollar a gallon gas to go and argue will these people. I'm sick of them.

Alissa of St. Petersburg, FL September 18, 2008

Alissa of St. Petersburg FL (09/18/08)
I received a package from Ann Arbor, MI which was sent out on 9-12-08, received by the St. Petersburg, FL USPS on 9-17-08. The package had a note on it that said Package received empty, stamped by the USPS. The box was minimally damaged on the bottom, but the top of the box had been cut open, all the way open. The box flaps were gone.

When I contacted the USPS, they told me that without insurance, they were not held liable. The box had obvious indications of theft. How can the USPS not be held responsible for a theft while a package is in their possession? I was receiving invaluable items that cannot be replaced. There needs to be some recourse for the actions of the USPS. Why is the shipper required to pay additional fees to ensure the safety of their package? And because the shipper neglected to pay additional for insurance, I am to suffer the consequences of the USPS's negligence?

I have lost invaluable photos that cannot be replaced as well as an autographed book that cannot be replaced. Other items were taken of less emotional value as well.

I am a new seller on ebay, and atleast 20% of my items sent through the local post office are being received severely damaged. I am appalled and horrified. I have lost hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise and am humiliated as an ebay seller.

I have had to refund the total amount of money plus shipping and handling on the items won. What else could I do? And have had to apologize profusely to my buyers and reassure them that this is not a habit of mine-sending broken merchandise.
